Nokia has released another update for Nokia 808 Pureview and other Belle FP2 smartphones. This update is said to provide additional features and functions on the gallery and on the camera section. But some of you are still unable to see this update from your phone or even in Nokia Suite. No worries, you can now manually install this update without further waiting for availability. go for it

bigbite87, 05 Mar 2013photofunia and colorizit are also good alternative of insta... moretotally! 808 pureview is worth the money... my sister actually insist that i should better buy some android high end phones instead of 808 PV because symbian dont have decent ecosystem... but i tell her im not after apps since i already have an android anyway... and also i think android is a disposable OS, like i said before, you can actually buy a decent android phone under $100-150 and it can do what s3 or any other high profile android out there! and on android its not unique anymore... a lot of chinese phone runs on android now so i think i am just fooled if i buy an s3 yet i can actually buy just a mere $100 phone with almost similar of what can s3 do(well minus the quad core, 2GB RAM and the other samsung paraphernalia like super amoled or whatever)! but its decent, you can play temple run and have instagram and besides s3's camera is crap!!
isnt those apps are paid? well actually instagram isnt just a photo editing app it is a social app and also a must have so molome is a close second after instagram....
im not that impress to the "ultrapixel" of HTC one! well at one point, lumia 920 still perform better..and 808 pureview will just put it to shame if you try to compare it to one..and even the old king n8 will perform better.... yes i might agree that megapixel dont matter but i trust nokia's innovation on camera department more than anyone else! i might believe it if nokia made that but its not! its not even good! like the old saying goes "barking dogs often bites" HTC didnt prove that their ultrapixel is better than lumia 920... just like when nokia announce L920 but it dont have the 41MP PV of 808, a lot question if will it be any good, but at some point some photos are better on lumia 920 compare to 808PV..just prove that nokia's innovation on camera isnt questionable... so when i saw the results from htc one compared to lumia 920, i just know that it is not even close!
even the likes of sony and samsung cant make a decent camera phone even they make DSLRs(well xperia z is good but its not better since i already saw the best with 808 PV)

When i saw such a discount, i thought that is cause they have just one or something. But after what you said, apparently is not cause of that:). So yes, this is the price of the device in Europe. As far as we can see:D.

No battery charges to 100% cause Li-ion batteries start to degrade since out of fabric. They start to loose capacity. Normally an 1400mA rated battery should have like 1480 (more or less) and will charge till 1401/1407 mA. This will be like 94%/97% in phonetinfo measurement. Now, if this program reads your battery good (but i doubt that) just do 3 or 4 full charge discharge processes. Live the battery till it depletes to 0%, then plug it in and leave it to charge for 7/8 hours. Do this 3 or 4 times. You should see an improvement.

Who knows maybe we will have temple run in the future for now it is the most sensationalized game just like fruit ninja and angry birds before!! :) this phone is indeed one of the greatests of nokia.. It's worth the money.. The camera alone is worth the purchase.. :))
somehow htc made me impressed with their htc one but i'm gonna keep this 808 pureview no matter what.. :D

i really dont understand why nokia will kill symbian... its really pointless... nokia belle catch up with the looks that both android and iOS has... its fast and consistent, i even found android with dual core laggy and buggy most of the time unlike what i experience on symbian...
apps isnt a problem, if they will continue this instead of investing more in S40, the ecosystem will surely grow!! s40 dont have GPU while symbian has and if nokia will try to compete with low end android with just s40/asha they are dead... there's actually a lot of android under $100 with decent hardware and its already dual core and qHD screen, you can play high end game like temple run on it and most important is it has instagram ( why i say most important because instagram is a social network that isnt cross platform so its a big disadvantage of WP and other platform, BB10 can just sideload instagram)
so nokia, why not use symbian in low end? i mean it is not like android, it is not hardware hungry to perform better! 808 pureview is the best example for this! it run on a decade old ARM11 chip and not that good GPU and just a mere 512MB RAM but still it performs with flying colors! it can be comparable to any other dual-core or quad core with 1/2GB of RAM!
and also why kill meego and that meltemi? it could be a good option as well but i prefer symbian actually since it is so costumizable and i love that! meego is futuristic and a good OS for high end! and i know it would cost boat loads of money if you make a new OS (that meltemi) so just merge it to Maemo/meego and make it a high end OS! the ecosystem will just grow if you support them!
again, symbian is a good OS for low end because it is not hardware hungry and it is more powerful than android and even WP! and meego as a high end OS to compete with high end OS and devices of WP and android and even iOS!

I want to buy but ... morethe only disadvantage you'll have is apps.. you can't play games like temple run on this phone coz its not available and also instagram (we have molome actually, the instagram of symbian and blackberry and also we have flickr)
but over all, this phone is superb... for me, apps isnt actually needed since i have an android phone (and later will have an iPod touch coz iOS's ecosystem is way better than android)
so its not a big loss if you choose this phone and this will be the last symbian phone that they will make so it is worthy to buy if you are a real nokia fan... not the lumia, nokia lumia is not the nokia that real nokia that fans know...

hey Carol
my 808 has a battery of 1400 mah but phonetinfo shows battery nominal capacity of 1320 mah. And one more problem even after fully charging phonet info shows only 90 % and 1200 mah charged. What shud i do. Is this the phone's defect or the app's. One more thing my battery drains quicker too i have to charge it in 12 hrs. Please suggest appropriate solution.

Did anybody know how to bypass the websites by using vpn's like hotspot and fearless like in Android for my PV.

Maps works offline but you need to be patient, sometimes it takes 5 min. to find your location. Don't try to use it in a building. Many times it won't find you if you are offline. If what RODJ said doesn't work, do this factory reset one more time then reinstall the firmware via nokia suite. This should be enough.:)

I believe nothing is perfect in this world, in any phone, or even with ourself as a human being we're far from perfect. There's always strengths and weaknesses in everything. The same is true with phones, System, and electronic devices.
When my Symbian phone got hang I quickly fix it with one of these:
1)Close all open apps, or
2)Turn Off / Restart my phone, or
3)Pull out the battery for 1-2 minutes (only if hang persisted)
Fortunately we the easy way out. BTW you have an awsome phone friend. Cheers.

Carol told me this procedure which help me a lot. First, back up your files from phone to pc. Second, after you finish the first step from your mobile, dial *#7370# and your phone will refresh everything. After that format everything looks new and awesome. And your nokia store will refresh :)
