The Nokia Asha phones are basically Symbian phones and Nokia's hell-bent on promoting, supporting and updating it with software, apps and tons of games. Much like they do with their Windows phones. So why the total snub now for the 808 which runs on the highest Symbian OS? Something's definitely wrong with Nokia. And it's their fault.

            Hi,

My Nokia 808 suddenly stopped vibrating when its ringing today. It doesnt vibrate anymore. What could be the issue?

Also, my phone memory is about to be full. I noticed that my messages are storing in the phone memory, and not the mass memory or memory card. How do i set the message or SMS inbox to mass memory or memory card?

            Ikenna.

SBP, 16 Jan 2013Up until now I couldn't understand Nokia wouldn't develop q... moreHey, it us not Nokia's fault that allot of apps are not developed for symbian. This goes straight to the developer (EA, Gameloft, etc.). They are not supporting symbian from a long time now. Symbian was never supported by developers in the way that androsid an capple are. That is why we have so less apps, and some of them are crappy to. This comes first from the market demending. And the market started to demand android more and more. And if you want money. You go for Android and you forget about symbian (also, to develope symbian apps requires more skills then to make them for android). This process causes a circle effect. Symbian does not sale cause of the lack of apps and developers don't support symbian cause it is not selling as much as fartdroids or crapples:). If we want to keep symbian developers (the ones still left to develope for symbian) we should buy allot of symbian devices, so to increse the market demanding by verry much. And also, to start buying apps and not downloading for free from wrz sites. That may cause a good effect for symbian and may bring some new cool stuff to your phone:). All s^3 and s^4 devices support anu kind of apps as long as this apps are developed for them:).

Up until now I couldn't understand Nokia wouldn't develop quality apps and HD games on my 808. Prime examples are Skype video call and Asphalt 7, to name a hundred more. I'm very much sure the 808's processor and RAM can handle all the apps that have been developed for Android and iOS.
My 808 kinda became stagnant now and I'm sure even new software updates for it wouldn't compensate for the terrible lack of quality apps that could be made for it.
I'm seriously considering getting a Razr i or a Lumia 820 to replace my 808. Probably the Lumia 820 coz it's Nokia and for it's hardware design. The only drawback is that Symbian has perfected true and real multitasking compared to any other OSes. But the lack of quality and much needed apps and games are surefire reasons to replace it another phone.
Btw, the 808 browser might be very much ok but it's still way off compared to all and any other OSes.
This 808 isn't anymore highly recommended for 2013 use. Sad.

Bought my Nokia 808 Pureview today , and I upgraded to Feature Pack 2 ; It was a good deal since the phone was priced at 390 USD here so it's certainly a bargain

Regarding the feature , it's really good and smooth compared to the Nokia N8 and the camera is hands down the best camera ever used in a phone and regarding the smartphone features they are good and the 808 performs great

I recommend it to anyone !

                          Lovin' it

No other phone like this and there is nothing on the market right now that can match this phone for what it is. It is a great multi media phone, very useful for indoor and outdoor activities – it's a practical All in One device.

                                      CONS:
*Modest battery, it should be bigger because of screen brightness & camera tasks (Mugen battery is the alternative). See this link for better battery

*Browser should be improved via update (Opere Mini is the alternative)

AnonD-96039, 14 Jan 2013hi carol can you give me advice? I knew that this is Nokia ... moreWe start badly because you have no freedom of choice! Or one or the other.
It's intuitive that all the friends of the forum here will recommend you the 808, without be wrong of course. This would be certainly and definitely my personal choice also.
The problem in your case, in my opinion, if you're interested, is that both devices failed to meet expectations even to their fanatical followers, (as it contrary happened with the two previous gs2 and iph4s). Because both devices are expensive i recommend you to "wait" till something else will be released.
However 808 is unique and xllent sample of hardware and technology
