http://unleashthephones.com/2012/07/07/whats-installed-on-my-nokia-808-pureview/

http://www.808fanclub.com/

*Support micro-SDXC cards

*Handles almost all kinds of CODECs

*Nokia Belle OS - King of Multitasking, Fluid UI, Resource efficient, Rich with features, User friendly. It is light years ahead of all symbians (one of the best OS & on par with other OSes)

*This phone may not satisfy everyone. But this is a distinctive & special phone that has a class of its own. No other phone like this and there is nothing on the market right now that can match this phone for what it is. It is a great multi media phone, very useful for indoor and outdoor activities – it's a practical All in One device.

CONS:
*Modest battery, it should be bigger because of screen brightness & camera tasks (Mugen battery is the alternative). See this link for better battery

http://www.mugenbattery.com/mugen-power-extended-3000mah-battery-for-nokia-808-pureview/

*Browser should be improved via update (Opere Mini is the alternative)

AnonD-96039, 14 Jan 2013hi carol can you give me advice? I knew that this is Nokia ... moreWe start badly because you have no freedom of choice! Or one or the other.
It's intuitive that all the friends of the forum here will recommend you the 808, without be wrong of course. This would be certainly and definitely my personal choice also.
The problem in your case, in my opinion, if you're interested, is that both devices failed to meet expectations even to their fanatical followers, (as it contrary happened with the two previous gs2 and iph4s). Because both devices are expensive i recommend you to "wait" till something else will be released.
However 808 is unique and xllent sample of hardware and technology

I've owned smartphones for 7 years now since 2006, my first one was PalmTreo 650, then N96 (great multimedia and first one ever to have a digital TV tuner! play/record scheduled TV on your phone - god bless nokia!), then E7 (QWERTY oh my god!) and finaly now THE N8! All the phones have never let down. I've recently upgraded my E7 & N8 to Belle OS and OH MY GOD it is phenomenal! (except for the browser but I'll get to that later). Imagine the OS that was designed for a 600Mhz Single Core CPU with 256Mb of RAM running now (on the 808) on 1.3GHz CPU with 512Mb!!! The OS literaly flies! PERFECTION. and I'm not even gona talk about the Camera (I'm not worthy of talking about the DSLR that's been squashed into this piece of technological ART. Amen, bless nokia.

AnonD-96039, 14 Jan 2013hi carol can you give me advice? I knew that this is Nokia ... moreWhat?? Is like they force you to buy what they want?:))))))))))))). Anyway, let's say that this is normal:-?? and to answer a bit to your question which won't be very interesting...

I don't know! What do you like to have? Iphone is a highly restricted device (you cannot even send a file via bluetooh, any file) while s3 is very unlocked (you can get some malware, etc)
                    S3: from 12 to 36 hours battery
                    Iphone5: from 12 to 36
                    S3 Camera: nothing impressive
                    Iphone 5: The same.
S3: internet speed (almost the same with ip5, but ip5 doesn't support adobe flash, also, i don't know if the new android fw still supports adobe flash)
S3: big device and crappy quality (allot of slim plastic, can brake quite fast)
ip5: not so big and more resistent (made of anodized aluminum and glass, a Nokia idea)
S3: signal may be better then iphone5 but this i really don't know. I'll say Nokia put's a shame on them both.
Ear speakers and in ear phones quality i don't know. But as far as i listened to S3 music player and original in-ear-headphones... didn't made me happy, quite at all. Compared to my old buddy N8 sound quality. To much noise, to less bass.
Apps. nothing to talk about. Both have a large s**tload of apps.
ip5: has no desktop, it is a pretty much a very simple smartphone (to simple for allot of geek users, i say that it is made more for in-experienced users... it is to darn simple for me)
S3: android on the other hand is not simple, it is not very complicated, but is messy. A fact that makes it more customizable for personal preferences and you can also set more desktops.
Android vs Ios? Symbian all the way:))).
Both have pros and cons (of course)
IoS - highly optimized. Works quite good and lag-less
and doesn't require so much useless hardware.
Android: on the other hand needs a quad-core cpu to run at least smoother then was running before. But it is still a bit laggy and crashes sometimes on apps (nothing to worry to much, all smartphones go freeze from time to time), also, with this hardware is gonna eat more battery then a normal smartphone. No matter what they say.
Overall? I won't be buying none of them. I don't like IOS and Apple in general. And i don't like Android, especially on a Samsung cheap a** device... At the end, it is your choice. Not mine, and this is only my opinion. You can ask this to others. If you go to Samsung: all will say to buy it. If you go to apple, all will say to buy it cause it is better then Samsung:))). Just go in a store and put them head to head. See what you like. i'd buy 808 :)))). Also you can search problem in internet with this devices so you can now what to expect...

Amir, 13 Jan 2013nokia was the best now nokia can't be a good competitive a... moreBeside OS, it is the combination of Processor, GPU, and RAM that makes a phone faster or slower.

If only Nokia equipped N8 or 808PV with an equal specs like Droid (1,5GB Processor, Powerful GPU, 2GB RAM, and 2300 mAh Battery) it will surely beat that battery hungry's OS anytime.

"Belle OS" is the lattest from Symbian, smooth and fast (much better than S60, Sym3, and Anna). Whether we like it or not Belle is the best OS ever created in phone history (Amazing Multi Tasking, Very Capable, Mature, Rich with features, and User Friendly, and Power efficient). In fact, Belle can do everything that other OSes can do (and cannot do).

And it is quite big to. So if you want a camera. Go for something better (Canon, Nikon, Panasonic), my opinion. As for the macro. Yes, it is strange that the 808 has a fixed macro, so has the N8. But i didn't know that 808 has the same. Maybe this limitation is because of some politics. I don't know... But i don't think it is cause of the sensor...
