I have been using my brand new 808 for a week now and so far no major problem at all. Bought a Mugen 1500mah battery and using as the main battery. I'm trying to revive my once mighty N8 and replaced the battery with the one on the 808, the BV-4D 1400mah. Fits in perfectly as it has the same dimension as the BL-4D in the N8.
My only real gripe with the 808 is that I still can't get used to the keyboard compared with the N8. I know the 808 has better keyboard layout and far more different than the N8. I still type faster on the N8, though. Which is odd, really.
This 808's the best phone for me, that's why I bought it.
Though some games like Asphalt 7 and the new Angry Birds aren't being ported to 808 and Symbian anymore. So, really lack of support and apps and games aren't really coming anymore.
That's why I'm getting the Android beast Motorola Razr i next month so I'll have of both worlds.
The 808 will always be the best phone for me, though.

hye all,,actually sincerily from my heart and my experians,,,
i was using OS android and symbian,,so i would says symbian can save a lot of battery and while android drain fast as it can,,
what i can sees from closed,,OS symbain can make internet smooth and more powerfull coz none apps background auto sync unlike android,,whose was using android know thats thing,,,
what good is OS android:its open source and many today was using it,,and its truly os today,what we call smartphone oS,,while symbian was died now,,but i hope one day,,symbian can mak history again just like before in 2002,,

They ditched MeeGo/Maemo and symbia... morehi friends, ever since this phone has been announced, i have been following you guys here. you people have been really amazing!! it's been a month now that i am using this phone, thanks to you people. Common ppl are really 'sheeps' and thats how the 'marketing' works.
i have to say that really it takes a great deal of courage to follow your heart. i didnt buy N8 and i regret that a lot, N9 was just like dream. i have been using nokia symbian since N72. but after that when they shut it down, i felt like being stranded. i even used a couple of androids (i even own a galaxy s advance and it's nice) but it's really amazing how this 'single' core shoots, processes and plays over a billion pixels video without any hiccups. till date my phone didn hang even once and mind you, i dont close the apps, they run in background all the time. Still the battery works.i have also updated to FP2 two weeks back and i didnt have any problem so far.
about ppl out there, who just get to know about this phone from word of mouth, please just dont take things for granted. do your own research. just because everyone else is saying that it's bad, you shouldn't say the same before giving the thing a fair chance. just not because everyone else or your friends are buying you should buy it too. just buy what suits you based on your needs.
it's really disheartening to see nokia not putting much effort in promotion of 808 pureview like it did for n8, not at all.
lastly thanks a lot to gsmarena. you ppl post one of the most unbiased reviews unlike other sites which are either pro-iphone or pro-droid, for whom every nokia phone is jus crap because thats how it's every where. hats off to you guys!! really, keep doing the same.

hi friends,
google maps aren't working on ,after completing installation when i open it nothing happens it just start and then close.
Whats the problem i don't know.
If any work around please tell me.

I live in india which is a growing smartphone market. What nokia is doing here, they are promoting asha series which is expensive than most of low end andriod smartphone from samsung and indian manufacturer and in mid to high range they have lumia series in front of whole android gang like galaxy s3 , htc onex and many more with less price tag and much more functionality and freedom than wp based lumia series. They wan compete with android with their feature phone s40 os instead symbian ( a true competitor for andriod) and with lumia series which is way more expensive than their android counterpart . As result nokia is kicked out of top five smartphone maker and their current position is at no. 10 behind lenovo at no.9 and nokia deserves where they are.

Abdroid has stole allot from them the way of doing things and interface but they could not steal important things: STABILITY and quality. Still, Nokia abandoned them. Here, i can say: Nokia you suck because of this! Let's hope your Lumia's have a big impact on mass so you can reconsider bringing back symbian (at least) after you have some income stability and you can invest again in Symbian developing. And for people sake release this source code so developers can stop being lazy and do some work on this platform.

if 25000rupees means 300dollars or euro why in the hell in the rest of the world the price is double?...and what do they want to do whith nokia? Wp8 idon`t want it ,s40 neither... I advice a friend to buy android.think about that... A person which all his live had only nokia now is thinking to swich and advice others to do it... This means bad for nokia. I am sure that are many of you thinking in the same way... If you think diferent tell me. Simbyan should not end they did all this things whith nokia only for money but microsoft is not a good partner.nokia was with personality , and now it could be one of many wp8...
