AnonD-38204, 24 Aug 2012these sort of devices cant recover nokia market once ... moreU said that nOkia should develop OS with lower ram and processor right? Then compare 808 hardware with android smartphones, it's clear that 808 use lower spec than any high end and mid end droids, but it still capable to achieve good performance. I'm never had a crush problem with this phone.. It works well...

i had the phone for 3 days, i admit i bought it only for the camera. i want a phone, i want a camera. that's it. as a camera, a phone and a video recorder: i don't have any complaints regarding the 808, for now. the OS could have been better but i have a galaxy tab and having twice the processor never made it faster than the 808. given the same amount of files, the 808 speed never wavered. part of the galaxy tab lag maybe was because of all the apps i installed. some apps are malicious and could slow down or prevent your phone from functioning properly. so i figured, the most dependable phone would be the simplest. too much apps already killing my time and productivity. do i have more time to waste? i even have a ipod touch for apple apps! i don't get enough sleep as it is. make life simple. choose what you want and never care what other people say. they wont give you money to buy what you want. correct?

these sort of devices cant recover nokia market once again..........its nearly late............
TO compete wid android NOKIA has lot to improve....
NOW talking abt myself i once was a fan of S60...coz except these ther were only java platform mobile....now the time is changed....but nokia sticks on same .......... instead of increasing processing speed, memory for multitasking it only increases internal storage for eg...95,97etc....

NOW the main reason tht user kicks out NOKIA is bcoz of low performance of its old OS.......update to some apps is only available...not the OS....... i also got N97 buts its weird...slow phone.....but huge unwanted storage capacity....32gb..BUT its not very late....it can recover its lost market. for this NOKIA should give upgrade to old phones.... NOKIA should develop GOOD OS capable to run on low speed processor nd low RAM...And it should give user chances to modify widgets nd interface....... Once the old user gets chance to upgrade their outdated OS M sure the faith will grow once again.....nd the belief of NOKIA will grow....nd sure people will start to use NOKIA smartphone....Nokia has got many high performance smartphone enough to compete with droid nd ios... but doesnt got user trust thts why its going down...... SO the drawbacks is not symbian OS its the lack of trust...

My review of Nokia 808 PureView.

I had an opportunity to spend some time with this phone. This one had Symbian Belle FP1.

In terms of software, except for speed, it's not much different from other Nokia phones with Symbian Belle, which means good speed and solid performance.

In terms of hardware, I'm surprised that even though the bump for the camera at the back of the phone looks big, it really doesn't affect the usability of the phone at all. The phone itself isn't that bulky or heavy. It's comfortable enough for a one-hand use. The build quality is superb.

Camera is super-awesome, no need to say anything else about that.

The screen is excellent, viewing angles are good enough, and sunlight legibility is flawless, way better than any other phone. Oh, and don't worry about the resolution of 360x640, because pixelation can only be noticed if you get close to 5 cm from the phone. Besides, lower resolution is better for the hardware and smoother performance, since it has less pixels to handle.

In my opinion, there is only one hardware con. The ambient light sensor can't be turned off.

Software cons are only related to Symbian Belle, which is:

                                    - Bad native gallery app - it gives you only 3 options: share, send, and delete. There is no ''details'' option. Zooming is ofcourse enabled. Hopefully this will be solved with an update or third party app

                                    - Bad native browser - it's a bit slow, and it consumes a lot of RAM. It froze with 4 tabs opened. Luckily this can be solved easily, just use Opera instead and you're good.

There is a few more, but those are not that important to be any sort of a deal-breaker.

does the responsiveness and performance of the pure view 808 lags if the on-board storage in the phone has been used to its max limit?? as i have seen this happening in many n-series phones?? please give your views, for example if you have used 12gb out of 16gb in the phone will the responsiveness and performance of the phone be affected when compared less data storage in the phone??
