AnonD-57380, 14 Aug 2012symbian os has best real multitasking in all os's. No one c... moreSymbian/Nokia Belle is a king of Multi Tasking:
*Even the old Nokia N8 can open more than 25 apps running on the background, without forced closed. Try it yourself if you don't believe. (No other OSes can do this as of now !)
Symbian/Nokia Belle is very resorces efficient OS. In fact Symbian has proved that:
*Nokia N8 with 3,5 display & 1200 mAh battery can last for 2 days without charging.
*Nokia E5 with smaller display & 1200mAh battery can last for 3 days without charging.
*Nokia E6 can last 4 days without charging. (Amazing !)
Symbian/Nokia Belle has been proven to be capable of Running quite smoothly in old Nokia devices of E7, C7, & N8 with 680 Mhz Processor and 256MB RAM only(It's true, No kidding !)
Symbian Nokia Belle FP1 and FP2 has:
*FM transmitter
*Facility to do file transfer between device
*HDMI Output
*NFC
*DLNA
*And probably other features (NO restriction, No Limitation !)
Symbian has No Viruses, No Malware. (The Safest OS).
Symbian:
*The Most friendly user interface
*The Most stable and Mature OS.
*The Mother of All OSes (It teaches others how to make OS)
And Nokia 808 PV is the Mother of All SmartCamerePhone Devices!!

Anonymous, 14 Aug 2012yeah.. but developers need to develop apps for it first.. I... morethere are apps in nokia store, developed by nokia itself & by some developers. its just not as numerous as those in apple appstore or in google play.
do you really need those hundreds of thousand apps?
how many of them have you installed on your phone? how many of them you really need?
& how many of those apps are just clones of other apps?

FOR 808 users
I brought my 808 to NOKIA CARE CENTER to have my phone checked if there is an LED indicator and yes they confirmed it that there is a LED. They will be replacing the board itself or in short PHONE REPLACEMENT. For the person who replied in a RUDE WAY you might try to bring your dumb phone.

Yes, you will definitely find that Dolby Digital Plus works on your stereo Bluetooth headset. I use a Nokia 505 headset and it's awesome! Best of all, is the 505 and PureView link up via NFC so pairing is never an issue.
The app marketplace is sorely lacking for the Nokia 808 PureView and I feel sad about that cause this is an amazing device and it would help a great deal to further the market if there were more apps around.
That said, there are also a few bugs I've faced over the last month or so. The phone hangs at the oddest moments. Sometimes, even when I'm not doing anything on it and it requires me to pull out the battery to restart it. Frustrating, yes.. But it's rare and the phone makes up for it in other areas.
Another drawback I've noticed, is that WiFi is a bit buggy. Sometimes, it won't connect to my accesspoint. I logged a complaint with Nokia and they've confirmed that it is an issue with some routers and the next firmware update will resolve this issue.
Everything else about this phone is amazing. Symbian moves smoothly on the 1.3 GHz CPU and it is NEVER laggy! Whoever said HD applications don't work on the 808 is kidding. Apps run like a charm and there's virtually no loading time even for Full HD games and resource hungry apps.
The camera blew my mind away the first time I used it, and I'm always amazed at the detail and the vivid colors that the phone takes. It's really hard to take a bad picture with this device!
On a similar note, Symbian by design, cannot use a screen larger than 320x640. So the screen resolution is not awesome. However, the PureView chip does a beautiful job of rendering the screen and even fully blown up images look great on the phone. Mind you, even though the pics look great on the phone screen, once you send the pics and videos to your TV or computer, you REALLY get to see the wonderful work that your camera has accomplished.
There are pros and cons in every phone, and with PureView, there are a good number of both. But in the end, I think the Pro's outweigh the cons by miles.
If you're thinking of going for this device and are willing to shell out the cash for it, trust me, it's worth every penny! I'm very very happy with my purchase.

Nokia 808, according to many Android and Iphone fans is a old system, which runs on mere single core processor with nothing new but 41 mpix camera which is also being condemned by many. I thought why not give Android (Samsung) and iphone fans a ride of Nokia 808 and make them understand what it is.
First, I will talk about negative points. In the world where companies are rolling out systems with quad core and higher clock speed, Nokia is stuck with single core 1.3 ghz.
Second, its a very old boring Symbian OS with tint of Belle fp1.
Third, lack of softwares and games. Nokia 808 cant even dream of playing HD games.
Thats what everyone says when we talk of Nokia or Nokia 808.What I found is shocking and pleasantly surprising.
First, though Nokia 808 is single core it never lags in any application. If is so smooth and so stable.
Second, it has a highest screen contrast compared to any phone in the world. Amoled screen on Nokia 808 is amazingly bright and pureview technology provides most accurate and pleasing colours.
Third, it plays videos in most available formats in the world today. It plays HD as if this phone is made for HD video playback.
Fourth, it has one of the best sound system in form of Dolby Digital Plus available and plays audio better than any other smartphone.
Fifth, its connectivity is amazing. My Galaxy note has 21 mbps 3.5G capability but is cant compete with my 14.4 mbps able Nokia 808.
Sixth, wifi connectivity is amazingly fast too. Better than my Galaxy Note.
Seventh, its built quality is of highest standard and better than any other smartphone available today. If you compare Nokia 808 with Galaxy S3, its like comparing Hulk with Barbie or Snow White. Hilariously true isnt it.
Eight, in case of Symbian OS it has a largest screen available on market today.
Ninth, it has one of the longest battery life when compared to Android or Iphone smartphones today.
Tenth, last but not least Nokia 808 has a best camera available in any smartphone in the world.
Price of Nokia 808 has been tagged between USD 550 to USD 800 depending on the region. But the truth is its not expensive even if is would have been priced at USD 1,000. I know many will not believe but you have to use Nokia 808 to believe it.
I dont want to say Android or Iphone are not the best as its a matter of personal choice. Even though I own Galaxy Note I can without any doubt claim Nokia 808 as winner.
