My first phone was a Nokia keypad phone. I used two most popular Nokia smartphones also (Nokia N8 and Nokia 808 PureView), those were one of the best phones of their time. When I look back in my gallery, I'm still amazed by the photos clicked by Nokia N8 and 808 Pureview. The overall quality, especially the natural colours and great amount of detail which doesn't look over processed or oversharpened compared to flagship phones these days. Currently am using Vivo X70 Pro, sure it has a good camera setup with modern image processing algorithms, it still can't match up to the natural photos captured by the Nokia 808 Pureview in daylight. I have had my hands on with most modern flagship phones and with all of them, I have noticed the processing is agressive with software computation (AI thing), as a result the colour science isn't good on most phones producing punchy photos with overboard sharpening. However there have been advancement in smartphone cameras with night mode and potraits but with most phones nowadays with impressive night mode, they still can't get the colour science done the right way, same is the case with my Vivo X70 Pro. I also checked out the X80 Pro, touted as one of the best camera phone in the market currently, found the same case with it too. There's a reason why professional still prefer natural colours in the photos so that there is more flexibility when editing the photos. I must say, smartphone cameras these days no matter how advanced they got, still can't produce the natural colour tone as the Nokia 808. That's the reason it was named PureView, so that it produces images that look pure and unadulterated.. Imagine Nokia 808 PureView with modern hardware designed by the same engineers (with their knowledge of photography) who worked on it, it would really be unbeatable by the current generation of flagship phones.

Does anyone know where I can find games and apps for this phone? I've been to the n8fanclub site but the links are all offline. I have the SIStore application installed but it has few games and applications.

Nokia 808 produces natural colours, hence the name "PureView", nowadays I'm using Vivo X70 Pro, although it has a good camera setup with all new stuff like HDR, AI, blah blah etc it still can't match the pureview in terms of colour reproduction. The colours are boosted, along with exposure that make it insta worthy but to be honest, If Nokia 808 Pureview is born again then nothing can match it..

Ricardo, 24 May 2022Has anyone tried using a 64gb microsd card? if yes, did you... moreyes! I've been using a lexar 64GB SDXC Card on my 808 PureView for over 5 years without any issue! & now using a 256GB card on my beloved 808!
Issues (such as phone restarting in loop) occured once i tried a 512 GB card.
so i can assure you can use SDXC Cards up to 256GB, you won't encounter any problems / issues with 808!
it'll work as long as it is formatted as exFAT file system!

Best cameraphone I ever used. Natural colours and natural looking bokeh. Wonder if this had slow motion, potrait mode, night mode with OIS, how amazing it would be. Wish I could post photos taken with this phone here. Legendary camera phone ever.. Won't be replicated again sadly unless the real Nokia comes to the business.

this cameraphone bot just the highest pixel count but also the biggest sensor size… purely optical not artificially altered bokeh, but sadly their operating system didn’t catch up the trend.. symbian and wp are totally fail when it comes to evolution… symbian had shitty ui and lack of apps, windows phone has shitty launcher… nokia with high reputation in innovation and durability and craftsmanship was fall down for not adopting android, they adapt android but too late

YUKI93, 19 Jun 2020Who came here because of Mrwhosetheboss?Lol please, not that sellout shill who facepalmed his head and said 'a load of bs'. He clearly has zero clues about photography. He is exactly the textbook definition of 'more colour is better'. I speak to many professional photographers about his video and NOT ONE agreed with him at all.

It is slow and quite bulky phone. There is not much working app left. However, I love it. I still have one brand new as a back up and with another I am using daily. It is almost 6 years as a heavily using and it is still a very perfect condition. That is a phone!
