Yea its nice also to send the breathtaking pics directly with bluetooth to other devices or do you know a better way?
I have received a black unit from graigslist not unpacked yet. Just for taking picks also on holiday as just an sms device.
Should i tweak the camera app at first or is if just fine from the box? Or even consider a custom ROM? Greetz Mawlki

Dimitris, 03 Sep 2020My friend how you make the mail work with mail creator i ca... moreFor youtube and facebook use Opera mini

For email use the app "Mailbox Creator". It creates a generic e-mail account and then you have to edit it and configure it with the data of your account (yahoo, gmail, hotmail...)

An other option is using "profiMail" it is now a free app. It works really well.

The 808 may be an old grandpa phone. But in this case, the grandpa can still kick many of today's phones out of the ball park in the camera department..

fiftydinar, 21 Apr 2020Can't compare with my ZTE Axon 7 tho.But i'm impressed with this phone loudness, it's the loudest speaker i ever heard on a phone, especially with MoreSoundInLoudspeaker mod applied in Rom Patcher. Headphone sound quality is good but not better than dual DAC on ZTE Axon 7. It has better instrument separation tho. To my ears it sound more "analog" than ZTE, which i like. Sound recording is top notch, i think that Nokia got inspiration from it with OZO technology in their new phones. Camera is top notch with natural colors with some lacking dynamic range which is not a problem for me. Photos also have a low noise in daylight conditions. In night i use Xenon flash which is fantastic, better than LEDs. If it only had OIS, faster autofocus & better dynamic range it would easily win in camera department compared to other today phones. I decided to use this phone as a daily driver and it serves me well. I was addicted to Android phones so i wanted to switch to Symbian. And i'm impressed with the system! I'm running 20 apps in background with playing some games and they did not close once! I'm running latest Delight 1.7 ROM. Mail works with Mailbox Creator and custom IMAP settings which are avaliable on google site. Nokia Maps works, all maps can be downloaded except USA from http://maploader.de/. You can also download maps from http://maps.tienda-sistore.com/. Best browser for 808 Pureview is Opera Mini 7.1. It's fastest, saves a lot of data and renders pages really well. Second place goes to UC Browser which has most customization options (Night mode, custom background, themes...), it loads fast too but it doesn't render pages as it should. Opera Mobile 12 is the most advanced out there but it loads pages really slow. I tried some other browser called QQ Browser from Tencent (didn't know that they make browsers) and it is slow, nothing special. All applications and games which i have on my phone i downloaded from http://ovi.h1n.ru/symbian-store/, https://www.n8fanclub.com/ (a lot of games but some links are not working) & some other sites. Best music player is Quasar MX, no doubt. I tried 360ting music player too but user interface is much better on Quasar MX and it plays flac files (it doesn't play wav unfortunately). Music finder app i have is SoundHound and it works pretty well, it found most songs. There is also a Shazam app but it is really rare and hard to find. No need for it as SoundHound works great. There is a lot of games which i have and these are my favorites in no order:
                            Asphalt 6 Adrenaline
                            Fruit Ninja
                            Angry Birds
                            Angry Birds Rio
                            Worms
                            Climate Mission
                            Blockfest Deluxe
                            Guitar Rock Tour 2
                            Block Breaker 3
                            Bejeweled Twist
Other games i have: Avatar, Let's Golf 2, PES 2011 (stuck on 4:3 aspect ratio), Asphalt 4 Elite Racing (it's in portrait mode and not that good), Bounce, Bounce Boing Battle NFC & Prince of Persia.
FM transmiter is an amazing & unique feature, i use it when i have a good sounding radio. HDMI port is also a great & unique feature, but i have no need to use it. I will buy micro HDMI to HDMI cable just to test how it works.
There is a lacking of WiFi Hotspot feature, but problem is solved as there is an app called JoikuSpot which works flawlessly.

All in all, I love this device and i will keep it for a long time.

I got this phone again. Bought a second hand 808 PureView in pretty functional condition. I wish this phone was still functional, particularly the internet, web and application ecosystem aspect of the operating system, then I would still be using this as my primary phone. I've only owned two Nokia smartphones in all my life, Nokia N8 and this phone and I know how great these two phones were at that time. Still love the camera quality of this phone. It will stay in my drawer as one of my prized possession of the last Symbian Phone that has one of the largest camera sensor ever in the history of smartphones. At the same time, using a big Android smartphone and certainly using this phone, it feels how compact this beast is with sturdy build quality, despite being of polycarbonate plastic material. Just have a few problems like if I plug in my earphones, a message pops up saying accessory not supported. Tried with several earphones, no success yet. Need to hoard some batteries for future use. Amazing phone ever seen in the smartphone industry.

potato, 16 Feb 2020um WhatI love my 808 Pureview, and still use this as my primary phone, it looks like new, even closing in on 8 years it has survived several drops, hard hits, soaked from severe weather exposure, it still works great, even in arctic cold weather. It has experienced all the worlds climates in past years, great signal reception, hardly ever loses coverage even in the remote areas where other phones lack connection even with all their newer frequency bands. Well known to all Imaging is one of its big strengths, with this camera and a tripod I even do (stellar!) nocturnal astrophotography, time-lapses, and of course full HD video/sound, hour-long and attached to remote storage if want be. To name a few more features: Brilliant sound quality both in and out (recording loud concerts is an option), the splendid beauty of replacable battery, (I have 6 spare cells and external charger for them, too, btw) which allows you camping and maintaining connection (if so I desire) for a cloudy week, without solar charge or other bulky charging devices), its continously upgraded (512 GB currently) memory card stores everything I need (some 30k hi quality music tracks, thousands of photos, videos, etc). Connections/ports of all kinds: 3.5mm ear phone jack, HDMI(!), USB OTG, NFC, DLNA, FM receiver/transmitter.. And, running an ancient, hacked Symbian OS with which I am well acquainted this phone allows me "real privacy", as there are no silly apps insistent on logging my every move, even if I do have loads of apps onboard for all kinds of information and creativity means, of course, complete global offline map coverage and a great GPS sensor, and excellent swype-keyboard for typing pages and pages of text, notes, emails, in editors for progamming and development purposes, whenever I want, and I do that a lot. Not to mention "Nokia Suite" excellent integration with Windows for backup/rebuild, syncing/export of all data, texting, etc..
In recent years I have suffered iPhones and Androids 'on the side', for their "APPiness" i.e. specifically required professional purposes, but they are always secondary devices which I enjoy only for shutting down and leaving at home, with their "defective by design" ecosystems.
