I think Android phones are the first to have 12 megapixels and Apple is increasing their camera pixels generation by generations. cough.. iphone 5 (12 megapixels)??
I kind of believe that Android Phone manufacturers and Apple will try to follow Nokia and increase their megapixel to like 41 megapixels very soon.

no matter how many thousand pixel does the camera generate, it will never match up to a dslr, even nikon d60 can produce much higher quality image than any smartphone you can find

Who needs a projector ?galaxy beam ... morewell, projector is still much useful for students and employees who works in their offices, the 41mp cam is designed for people who loves to take pictures outdoors with great resolutions, it's like you have an SLR cam with you. let us let them design what they want to design with their new phone to release, some certain phones were not designed for you, that's why you think you don't need it, they have their own target markets for it, and for sure they have made a unit that will suits your taste, please don't be descriminating, if you can develop and design your own phone, then do it :)

hm...i see something big is coming, and 41MP is definitely just the begining. If the processing power is there for 41MP without causing annoying delays, power shortage and storage issue (10MB each?), why not?
Something evolving at the States is the launch of lightfield camera (i know, they are not the first) squeezing 11megablips (they call it megarays, whatever...) of lights and turn it into HD-sized post-refocusable photo.
And, they have mentioned they are looking for partnership, sometime last year.
If this two stories click, i think it will be pretty interesting.

A really great "concept". If I were to bring this to the the beach or trekking for great photos, it should be rugged and waterproof. I think that would be a great niche. It's quite hard to do that with a delicate device with 1200mAh. believe me. I tried that with my n8. and please why would I buy a phone with an OS that's about to be scrapped? Imagine a phone that you could bring anywhere, capture everything in vivid HD and that can be used to upload your social networks in 4G. Minus the bulk it should be thin and sleek. I can dream can't I?
