[deleted post]Around PHP 27,000.00 - 30,000.00 don't know if they will add 12% E-VAT. I hope it will be lower, though, or maybe spice up the kit with lots of goodies, perhaps the BH-905? Hahaha! :p

[deleted post]Go back to your broken camera driver with lossy JPEG compression.
Yes -- THAT camera phone.
8MP picture almost more or less than 1Mb, what a joke.
It's about time you spend more time calling the attention of "insert your brand here" to fix the problems of your phone rather than bash Nokia 808 Pureview here. :p

symbian does very very well with managing the battery unlike android

AnonD-1551, 28 Feb 2012My question is which type of sensor this phone uses because... moreGSMArena themselves said Symbian Belle "feels almmost revolutionary" when they reviewed the OS
I have Belle on my Nokia N8 which has a 680mhz processor and 256mb Ram and imo it runs superbly the 808 has double the speed and memory so I imagine everything will run perfectly
as for comparing it to Android i've read many comments from users who have used both OS' saying that Belle is just as good as Gingerbread
Symbian will have an update later this year called Carla and next year we'll see Donna which the 808 is capable of upgrading to
you can have the same type of user customizability in Symbian that you do in Android as well as custom firmwares like Android users have (like how droid users have Cyanogen Mod)
to be completely honest Symbian was the cuztomizable OS before android came along so you'll find similar features across both platforms
Android has more apps but you'll find all the major ones in Symbian as well or equivalents Symbian is just lacking in the fartware department really

To make this all happen, we developed a sensor with a special companion processor that handles pixel
scaling before sending the required number to the main image processor.
... so aside from the 1.) main processor for the phone it has 2.) special companion processor for the sensor that handles pixel scaling before sending the required number to the 3.) main image processor.
So... how many processors are actually present there? Might explain the huge camera bulge, aside from having a Xenon flash with a large capacitor, no?
Anyways, I expect the Xenon flash would do the 1400mAh BV-4D battery in, not to mention the 41MP sensor. No matter, they do have external battery solutions for that scenario. Although it would be great if Nokia itself will make a 4200mAh in-unit battery officially, you know, to offset the camera bulge. Just a thought.

AnonD-12968, 28 Feb 2012Well guys ... its the come back of Nokia .... All haters pl... moreI'm running Belle on my C7/Astound after firmware flashing it and I haven't had ANY problems with it whatsoever. If Belle can run flawlessly on a 680MHz processor, 1.3GHz like the PureView will have no problems at all! And that's only from experience ;)

nokia should have worked a bit on resolution of the screen n also on the screen size.
there is so much power in camera nd what will be its use if 1 can't recognize it on the phn screen itself.
anyways n8 is a superb phn nd i m sure its successor will be 1 way above it.......congrats nokia

[deleted post]For gods sake Symbian is being supported until 2016 which is more gauranteed than any other platform..Symbian is far from dead and still selling millions. Just because 2016 arrives it does not mean the Symbian smartphone in your pocket ceases to work or exist it will still work and be supported by a community for another couple of years bringing it to 2018..
I dont see why Symbian should die i would rather have it than W7 ..With more upbeat versions coming along and more beefier hardware Symbian sales are still robust..When this thing comes out nearly everyone i know said "i,m copping one of them".Meaning they want one in their back pocket and since most folk use phone for calls/sms/mms/email and twitter plus photos the 808 is an outstanding smartfone..They also want one in their back pocket because they are carrying a true camera as well as communications and can upload their pics from the smartfone 808..
This 808 will be in short supply..

AnonD-1551, 28 Feb 2012My question is which type of sensor this phone uses because... moreYou can see in sample videos on youtube that the screen handles very good the pictures, but such a picture is intended to be shown on a tv or PC, do you watch your photos just on the camera itself?
