once my friend and I had gone for hangout at night. I was capturing his photo. But due to the low light conditions, camera couldn't get focus on my friend. And whole image came blurred. But that blurred photo was also looking good. I intentionally took some photos with that effect (with taking my friend out of frame and took photos of only landscape). And i loved the way photos came. I tried taking pictures with full blurry effect but couldn't succeed.

AnonD-91246, 23 Sep 2013my friend have Nikon D5100 DSLR. Once we had gone outdoor f... moreThat's cause of the big Focal length...Nikon has a 18-55 mm lens by standards as I know and that's mean it allow the lenses to move further and that's mean more depth of field

Nokia 808 Pureview is 8.02 mm Focal length and that's mean it delivers the amazing blur kindda like DSLR after Zooming...double the 8.02 mm *3.6 times, even portraits from 1.5 meter you can get a nice blur and that's impossible by any other phone...but sure you will never get the result of Canon 600D for example for getting the blur from 15 m portraits.

                        SO

If you have 55mm Lens... you will get an Amazing depth of field.

If you have 300mm tele lens...you will get blur looks like what you always see for the Football players Photos during the match

The more the lens gets taller...The more depth of field it produce :)

                        Hope that helps :D

Let's see how you like it and yes, I don't think you will be without an 808 too long. :-)
Anyway, stay safe, that's more important right now. my country was in a war 20 years ago (yes, I'm old) and it wasn't a good time to have a normal life. I hope things get better over there soon. :-(

PureView Pro sensor has an active area of 7728 x 5368 pixels, totalling over 41 Mpx. What happens after the shutter is depressed depends on the settings and whether or not zoom is used. But to give an idea, the default still image setting is 5 Mpx at 16:9, and for video, 1080p at 30 FPS. Using these settings, the zoom is around 3x for stills and 4x for video. Conventional digital zoom tends to scale up images from a relatively low resolution, resulting in poor image quality.
The image sensor is capable not only of delivering parts of its pixels, but of down- or oversampling its resolution by having its own on-chip image processor, highly reducing external processing needs and data rates as well as image noise (see noise shaping) when lower resolutions (or HD video) are needed. Additionally this provides very high image resolution. Images up to 38 megapixels can be taken at full resolution at 4:3 aspect ratio and 34 megapixels at 16:9 ratio.

my friend have Nikon D5100 DSLR. Once we had gone outdoor for some photography and i also got a chance to capture some pictures. :) i felt so good taking pictures with it. It was just amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed the photography with that DSLR. I never thought that there could be some much fun in photography. I have a question. Is it possible to keep our subject in focus and other things blurred even if its about 45 - 50 feets long from us? Actually we were capturing the photos of Lord Ganesh's idols at Ganesh visarjan. The Idols were at long distance from us say about 40 - 50 feets away. But still the camera manages to keep the idols in focus and other things blurred. The pictures looks amazing. I really liked That blurred effect. I know we can do it with our 808 but only our subject is close to us. But is it possible if our subject is far away fron us?
