currently main issue with windows phones is battery backup. When you don't use your mobile it will show you a stand by time of 4 days (wifi and net off) but when you use your mobile it will stay on for 4-5 hours . I have experienced Lumia 920 and now i switched back to nokia 808 just because of battery backup and one thing more. Lumia series don't allow zoom while recording videos. You can adjust zoom before recoring npt during the recording. so check it if this 1020 can zoom in /out during recording. Anyways i will suggest you to stay with your 808 going for Lumia series and try to use it like symbian belle 808 is imposible

now i know why they discontinued 808, they wanted to clear the space so they can sell a windows phone with a pureview camera. I expect the difference to be marginal, either it is advantage of 1020 over 808 or disadvantage. NOkia i think had the pressure to make it slimmer, so they made entire new camera module, i just think it would be better if they worked on 808 sensor to make it even better, they should have made it even refine. Nokia at the end is a company with sinking profits, they need to pull up their socks. My point is, a year back I was astonished, aw struck when they introduced 808, but this year, i was not, its just a 808 with wp8 slapped on it(broadly speaking)

Hi all dear friends
Now for the breathtaking moment and the reality voice...(echo somewhere) :D
First here is some hints about the new Nokia lumia 1020 with 41 MP powered by WP8 OS
Camera Resolution: 7728 x 5368 pixels
F stop: F/2.2 aperture (wider than 808 PV F/2.4)
Camera Sensor: 1/1.5" inch BSI Sensor which produce more sensitive pixels to the light, means great night shots quality (smaller than 808 PV 1/1.2" inch CMOS)
Camera Focus range: 15 cm to infinity (same as 808 PV)
Camera Image Formats: JPEG (no raw yet)
Nokia camera pro app: Auto and Manual Exposure,
Auto and Manual White Balance,
Carl Zeiss Optics, front facing camera with F/2.4 and HD video
Continuous Auto Focus, Manuel focus
Dual capture 34+5 MP in the same time, Exposure Compensation till 4 sec and shutter speed up to 1/16000
Face recognition for the first time in WP OS main camera app if we consider Nokia camera pro app is a default as it comes out of the box, Geo tagging,
Lens Construction: 6 elements lenses construction
Optical Image Stabilization(2nd generation),
Pixel Size: 1.12 µm (smaller than 808 PV 1.4 um physical one, not to mention PV mode which I posted before)
Video: 1080 @ 30,25,24 FPS with 4x lossless zoom
720 @ 30,25,24 FPS with 6x lossless zoom
No 360p video with 12x lossless zoom like 808 PV and no 15 FPS for all the video recordings
Lumia 1020 has mechanical shutter (like 808 PV)
2 mics for Nokia rich audio recording
Flash : Xenon for stills and LED for videos and photo assist.
So as you see here the New Lumia 1020 has some new features over 808 PV like:
- OIS 2nd generation
- wider aperture F/2.2 which means more wide view finder and more depth of field with more catching for light.
- ISO up to 3200 2x more than 808 PV 1600 only...which supposed to handle the light photos better 1600 ISO for lumia 1020 should be better and more noise controlled than 808 PV
-Exposure time up to 4 seconds to be the first phone ever to have such ET 3+- steps more than Nokia 808 2.7 sec only.
quite good isn't it...also don't forget the new algorithms for the PV technology and oversampling which producing vivid color, sharp images as Nokia said and Juha alkarahu on twitter.
Nowwwwwww the 808 turn over Lumia 1020...we just begain :)
- bigger sensor 1/1.2" CMOS the biggest sensor ever with 8.02 focal length...Hulk!!! (I'll back for that)
- 2,8 MP pureview mode over sampled pictures
- bigger Pixel size (((Ever))) for pureview mode
2 MP : 4.89 um...OMG!!!
5 MP : 3.91 um
8 MP : 3.07 um
- Nokia 808 has ND filter can be controlled automatically and manually for reducing highlights on such big F-stop 2.4 which gains big amount of light.
- ISO 50 option.
-360p Video with amazing 12X lossless zoom, 15 FPS mode also on all the videos.
Very wild and hot comparisons between two monsters which change the smartphone camera forever as N8 before
but what is one is the best????
what device will be more practical and professional????
stay tuned :D

AnonD-77434, 14 Jul 2013Hi all friend and the best fourem Finally Nokia unveiled... morewow... Will wait for sure.. Was searching everywhere in google but no use.. At last ur review shld help many 808 users here. Already i heared that 1020 is not producing the exact color of the object.. Also images are more vivid by default. Some are saying image detail in 808 still stays good than 1020.. But 1020 has OIS and good lowlight capability than 808.. Let us see, what all are the diff between 808 & 1020:):)
