Hmm many people would buy this as a secondary phone (if they buy at all) And it looks different - huawei y3 or nokia 2 looks basically the same as an expensive smartphone - similar form factor, no physical keypad. And really it's the personal preference, individual taste that matters after all... Anyone can always NOT buy an expensive feature phone, but I'm just glad it's available (for those who want something like this)

                        Anonymous, 03 Jul 2018I don't understand why would any body want to waste their ... moreOkay I understand what you're saying. I had the same doubt when i bought this device. Yes, 79$ for a feature phone is a tough ask. But let's simplify the equation here...

                        A really basic feature phone = 20-30 USD.
                        A pocket fm radio/mp3 player = 10 USD
                        A portable 4G-wifi router costs = 60 USD

                        Total cost = 90 - 100 USD
                        Nokia 8110 4G = 79 USD (max) (i bought it for 60 USD)

                        Maybe you don't want your phone to be a portable hotspot or a mp3 player or anything other than a dumb phone. That doesn't mean there aren't anyone using this phone as a smart feature phone.

                        And finally.. please don't mention about donating money to poor people instead of spending money on tech stuff.. Bcos it's a tough debate right? People use 1000$ iphones. People use really expensive Rolls-Royce cars. People pay hundreds of dollars for branded shi*ts right? Is it essential?? No not at all. We can live without any of what i mentioned above. But that's how the world works right? You study hard, you work hard to earn moeny. And you spend your hard earned money on whatever you like. If someone decide to use money as toilet paper (lol) that's their choice. Good people (you sound like you wanna do some good to this world), kind hearted ones donate, help poor people. But poverty is entirety a different topic. If someone studies really hard and get a college digree and a proper job, he/she can overcome poverty. Okay let me stop here. There's no point of commenting further :D (No hard feelings, I just stated a peice of the story)

                                I don't understand why would any body want to waste their money on this phone just for sake of the weird awkward joke of a design when they can buy nokia 2 nokia 1 or huawei y3 with the same amount of money or even less.Honestly it looks nothing like the legendary matrix phone.That huge cover, tiny 2.4 tft backdated screen, overall toyish design and build quality - this phone looks damn ugly in many ways.if you all think you can impress your budds with this phone and expect they will say " wow hey where did you get that cool looking phone from? " then your world must really be very tiny. Instead dont be surprise if your friends or girlfriend end saying " wow, I didn't know you can do phone calls using a toy these days! " no no don't be surprise at all.HMD is stealing your money using nostalgia! so don't be fool, even if you need a backup phone.Its better to donate the entire money to those poor people who need it instead of wasting your hard earned money to buy this crap.
