The 8800 is a major leap forward in design. I challenge anyone to tell me that any other phone comes even remotely close to its feel. AMAZING!!!!
For those of you that "don't get it" or just dislike it, don't buy it. There are lots of other less expensive phones for you - even free ones with a service subscription.

US$1,000 is nothing ... a lot of people can afford it ... all they need to do is to pay with their credit card on a 12-18 months payment terms(no interest charge). But this phone is really rubbish(the phone salesman describe it as a lump of steel) ... which is why it is not selling ... there are lots of 8800 in stock in any mobile store I visit today !!!

O2 have released it already.
It is way over priced! Like it or not! not matter how elite and exclusive you think you might be - it is a fashion phone as mentioned - but most fashion phones you are actually use unlike the 8800 - Good luck to all of you Exclusive people.

I have my Sony Ericsson K750i (€439,-) for 1 week and i'm very happy with it when i saw the Nokia 8800 i was shock about the price (€850,-) and his specifications are no competition for the K750i. the K750i is just better!!!!!

I hate to sound elitist but this phone is not for the average user. One must appreciate its design, it's visceral impact... and one must be able to afford it.
You don't need a Porsche to get from point a to point b. But is is certainly more fun. The same is true of this masterpiece.
I paid $1050us and feel I got a bargin (although the 8801 will be introduced in the US in late summer for $700).
As for the complainers, I have a feeling its a case of "phone envy" - the haves against the have-nots.

Even mobile phone sales complain about this phone !!
There is nothing special about it as was expected !!
The look is just a copy of the 8810 from years back when there is not much choice on the market !!

I totally agree. One more point. You need to stop compaining about the lack of features/camera/etc. This is a FASHION phone, not a smart phone. If you want all the features, get something else. Why don't complain to your girlfriend about her Louis Vuitton bags that they don't have all the compartments/features that a North Face bag does. So Stupid.

I am not sure why everyone is complaining about the low volume. Maybe you should just increase the volume? The volume can only be increased when you are on a call with the left and right navigator arrows.
And please, stop complaining about the price too. This phone is not for the average people. If you want some cheap plastic, get everything else that's out on the market and it's CHEAP too.

funny you should say that i did exactly the same - 9300 - 8800 - if you were disapointed with 9300 dont even consider the 8800 - it really sucks - battery - keypad, etc the list goes on -
i'm trading mine in for a 6230i after a week.
your choice but id say no way you wasting your cash...

This phone is really for the rich or someone who's got a lot of money to play around with, really it's piece of thing to show-off,apart of the fansy design, classy housing,...that's it..!!got mine for 2 weeks now,to be honest I don't think it's worth what I paid for(USD$1000.00)....think about it before buying it..!!battery life is too short+sound is to low+Mp3 sound is very poor+camera is average+.....Over all rating:4/10.
