Aust byuers beware ! OptusWorld stores are 'selling' this phone on a 2 day order promise - but when the 2 days is up and you ring to arrange collection they tell you that it still several weeks away - even though they know this when they sign your contact. And Nokia sent out an email to its Club Nokia members in June saying this phone is in store !!! Come on Nokia and Optus get your act together or loss sales !

Well with your average mp3 being around 7meg looks like you can hold around 7 full length songs on the phone. I know this is more than crap when you compare it to the other phones on the market, but i have an mp3 player. The only reason i would have mp3s on my phone would be to use them as ring tones. So i am fine with the amount of memory.

it seems that realisticalyl there's be around 50mb for mp3s etc, but i havn't tried to put any on yet.
the phone seems to be able to hold 300 or so texts according to this site, and ive got about 100 in there so far.

Has any-one else with one of these encountered the vibration problem?? Ie that it makes a weird rattling when it vibrates, as though the case is resonating?

The Nokia 8800 is a worthy successor to the 8910i, nokia have fulfilled all the sortcomings in the 8910i with this fone. The 8800 feels solid unique and gratifying to hold it gives a sense of having a real quality product at your disposal.
Whilst other handsets and manufacturers are busy attempting to sell gimmicks in their big boys toys. This handset is for people who don't want anything apart from having a quality handset and Nokia have added a simple series 40 user interface which compliments the handset brilliantly.
My only niggle with it is the battery life although its not bad but its not very good either. A few short calls in the space of 5 hours and some text messages can leave you with just a little over half your battery life and if your up early the fone will rarely last longer than 15 hours of average use without it needing charging
I Work for Vodafofe UK and I had to wait for 2 weeks to get a hold of one for myself. The demand for this handset is unbeleivable weekly stock is being exhausted in a matter of minutes. This is a shame as i fear that it will not have the exclusivity of the previous models in this range.

1 question; in the option called "Pictures" you see it lying next to a Docking Station, that one's in the package?

there wouldn't be that much fuss if vodafone were selling this phone for the same price as everywhere else.
i was willing to actually pay up to £300 or so for it on a contract and waited until vodafone had it because their tariffs were the most rewarding. at first, from the first date you could place a back-order, it was £160 on anytime 275, then fell to £100 after a few days (while still on back-order and not in stock) which was the price i paid.
most other places are doing it for higher prices on similar tariffs, ranging from £200 to over £300. and i think a regular user ise a lot more willing to spend £100 on a phone compared to £300. (it's the high prices elsewhere that makes it an attractive buy).
it's quite annoying that they're selling lots, because one of the reasons i bought it was because of exclusivity. but it's actually been taken off the vodafone website probably due to the massive interest and inappropriate stock levels.

Hi all. I work for Vodafone and everyone keeps phoning requesting this phone. Is it actually that good? The customers asking after this device refuse to go with anything else and the stock is going like hot cakes. I personally have a K750i which i love and use with the larger memory stick etc. What is the comparison like?

ok..
anyway, i won't believe that there's a black version until there are at least pictures or a nokia press statement out.
