I'm looking at buying an 8800. I really wonder what the key differences are btw the Arte, Sapphire Arte and Sirocco. Could someone be kind enough to help spell the difference? Cheers.

I bought this phone yesterday, (im in the states but ordered of plemix) and i must say it has to be one of the nicest phones ive had. i had a 8gb iphone before this and although the iphone is feature pact is nothing near the looks and the solidness of this phone. it is a must buy and well worth 1100 dollars.
email me if you want to know anything

Gunslinger_ul,
Thank you for the reply as I'm considering buying 2 of them(1 Arte & 1 Sapphhire Arte).
Although I had been purchasing 8 series phones since the 8810, I had bad experience of overheating with the 8850 & 8600 Luna!
By the way, most of recent Nokia phones do heat up quite badly during long conversation, e.g. 6300, 8600 Luna, E51, 6500c etc.

hi a am from serbia,as first i woud like to pay tribute to phones like sonyz1,ericsson 250s pro,3..,6..,8... nokia 8850,8910,so i bought the 8800 , friend brought it from dubai 2005 for about 1100 euros,i bought the schirocco, and luna aftervards, but the 8800 is the best of all,it is a fucking kalasnjikov under the 8...,so now i have a 3 pices 8800,it is easy to dismantle, use t5 and t6 torx, and clean the glas from behind,
so peapoles please, dont throw your bucks away get 8800(8801)for apr.400 euros while it is still awailable, save your bucks so you can give it to the migty u.s. warlord.

i don't have arte, i have sirocco -- but i think you will have issues only if you use it with ATT. However with T-Mobile it should work perfectly fine.

Someone already asked but I will ask again is it true it does not work well in the US because of triband as opposed to quadband? Please, if there is someone that can answer with a technical explanation it would be greatly appreciated.

There is a lot of opinion posted in this forum, but I wonder if there is there any real owner/user of this 8800 Arte? Or else why is there no one that post any comment/feedback regarding the 'heat-up' issue II mentioned below???!!!

How is the battery life of this phone, I saw one today and I may say it's not that good looking in person, looks similar to 8600 luna, maybe if I can try it for a while. I'm planning to buy this phone, does Nokia release any firmware updates for this model? And is it true that the screen is easily penetrated by DUST? thanks for the future replies

Anyone experience 'heat-up' issue with this phone during a call(from 10-15 minutes onwards)? Most Nokia phones have 'heat-up' problem which some user may/do not seem to notice when they live in the colder area. This will be very annoying to me cause I use my phone(s) for long business calls!
Any feedback from user of this 8800 Arte?

Having owned this phone for a month now, i can say it is a massive improvement.
The camera doesn't have a 2 stage process, you lierally point and click and the phone then focuses and snaps.
Also, to move files onto it, the phone will go into mass storage mode for drag and drop or it will use the sync software to sync contacts etc and then allow a content transfer under various icons in the software, ie pictures, music etc.
