Dust easily gets behind the screen??
      Are you sure??

Because if it is true, then i'll never buy this phone..

Overall 8800 sirroco is better, cause my sirroco never gets any dust behind the screen..

Great phone w/ only one problem. Dust easily gets behind the screen. Highly annoying for a $1200 phone.

I've had my Arte for almost two weeks now, and paid £675 for it simfree. My girlfriend thinks I'm crazy paying that much for "just a phone". But I said it's the same reason why you buy Dior and Chanel bags ;)

The majority of people here slag off the phone for not having wifi, 5mp camera, 16gb memory...this phone was not aimed at you...it's for those who want style over function, exclusivity over features...after all... not everyone buys Gucci or Rolex right? This is the Rolex of phones... it is manufactured from high quality material.

I think this a very logical upgrade for those with a Sirocco (this is what I had before). It looks and feels better imo than the Sirocco, and features wise there are improvements... namely the screen!! I love the OLED display and with the black theme it looks pure classy.
When the phone is not lit up...the screen blends in with the frame of the screen and it makes it look smooth.
The camera is much better though not excellent, but thats not why you buy this phone...videos are also a lot better and not as pixelated.

The vibra sensors are a bonus, and the leather case is very funky ;) with it's 'pull' mechanism!

All in all, I'm happy with the phone...
but only rants about it is the fact it doesnt have a screensaver option, yes theres the analogue clock, but you can't use your own pics as screensavers. Another thing is the slide doesnt feel as satisfying when you open and close it compared to the Sirocco...I think because the slide mechanism is shorter!
But these are small minor glitches...and would not have put me off buying the Arte even if I knew beforehand about them.

If you're thinking about buying one...I say do it... it's definetly worth it.

Why is nokia phones always too expensive? people can't afford to buy phone for like $1200, won't you rather invest with your money?
I guess nokia is just so short of ideas and all they could do is to be releasing different phones in styles but with the same features and functions while stylishly exploiting people's money.
Fine, their phone are good, sweet quality, durable etc. but men..... they should be more reasonable financially.

Nice design, liked the 8800 siricco but really wanted a better camera...hey, the arte has a better camera! Yet way, way, way, too expensive. They're running like $1200 on ebay right not....not for me. I guess this phone is not for everyone, definatley not me. I'd rather spend $700 on a n95 8gb...makes more sense.

I have to say that most of the comments here are just sour grapes as people cannot afford to buy this phone and cannot understand why people would want to spend €1000 plus on a phone. The 8800 Arte is not about features its about having the phone itself. If you want features buy a laptop, the E90 or the N95 8Gb! Or for that matter all of them and have some fun.The phone is about design, good quality construction and good call quality. Most users do not need a features list as long as your arm and most wont be able to understand how to use them. I just want a good quality phone most of the time, and the 8800 Arte provides that. Also it is a little bit of luxury that is expensive, but you have to treat yourself once in a while. Each to his or her own, I say!

i luv this phone...simple and solid. Very nice build. The construction is very neat. Black color is elegant. But the keypad is a bit too small but looks good though. I know many of u guys complain about the feature. well, i think this fone is more showing QUALITY rather than its feature and it does have the quality. For me, as long as i can do voice talk and sending text so that is enough, coz i have my ipod, my digi camera and my laptop ;-)
