Please all read this if you are not sure to get one.
I have owned loads of phones in the last 2years including the Apple Iphone and ALL of the nokia 8800 versions. The 8800 ARTE is what all mobile phones should be about. Its durable (metal) its smart and it has all the features you need including a good quality camera. Yes the battery is not great but i send about 100 texts a day and talk about 2hrs in total a day and i only need to charge it up every other day. IS THIS A PROBLEM just leave it on charge each night and your sorted. THIS IS A PHONE TO BUY, i can see me keeping this one for some time.

1.Where do i have to tap the screen exactly? Because i have tried all the places :)
2. And it says that it has a light sensor that regulate the brightness of the screen. Is this adjustable?

The screen is "O-led" technology. You can see it from any angle and any light condition. It's also a energy saver and that explains the very good battery life. The phone is super finished. The best phone seen so far. The tap sensor is a touchy detail. Amazing phone.

Hello from Southern California!
I got the Apple iPhone on the first day it was released and still adore it! I am also a Nokia enthousiast and regularly purchase their "exclusive" series. I got the 8800 Arte 2 days ago and I love it. It thinner, slicker than my 8600 Luna & has a much better slide (reminding me of the venerable, original 8000 and 8801). This phone came with a Nokia wireless headset and I had to (reluctantly so far) give up on using my exclusive Bang Olufsen wireless headset; I don't yet know if the Nokia headset can compare in voice clarity or noise elimination...we'll see. I can wholeheartedly recommend this sleek black metallic and glass beauty to anyone willing to spend mucho dollars or euros for exclusivity. A welcome change from the cheap plastic sides of the Luna!
I'd be interested to hear your experiences.

The phone was just released in Romania.
In our money the phone was 36.000.000 LEI , that means exactly 1000 EUR in a store.
Realy...it is the most exciting phone of the 88` series. It realy is a great phone.
My best wishes to all the owners. They made the best choice of their life`s. Sorry for my english... Andy...!

I have an original Nokia 8800, extremely sturdy phone, its was worth a bit, but i will stand by the quality of the 8800's.
It is a bit of a let down that there is still no external flash adapter inbuilt 1gb is a great improvement, but still, its rather limiting.
And the big factor that makes me hesitate (other wise i would upgrade to one of these in a flash) is the lack of Wifi. If it had Built in 802.11b/g i would be set.

Recently purchased this phone and the LG Viewty. I plan to keep this phone and give the Viewty to my mom.
Call, reception, sound quality are all much better than the Viewty. Although the Viewty offers more capabilities, this phone performs the basic functions of a phone much better.
Viewty also feels very cheap when you hold it. Doesn't have the heft or the build quality of this phone.
Definitely a MUST BUY!!!
