Anonymous, 24 Jun 2020Why are they still using ips lcd display in a 500 Euro phon... moreBecause LCD Display's are more durable than the midrange AMOLED thats it.
Those AMOLED found on midrange are not real oled they are less durable then flagship OLED.
So Don't compare flagship OLED with Amoled.
Nokia IPS Display with PureDisplay technology for midrange is at its best and more durable.

user070, 28 Jun 2020When is this phone available on the market?Well, can´t you see the specs?
Nokia is being good in producing phones.
The battery, the display, etc etc..
But we just need Wireless, IP68 and a Snapdragon 855+
        Fingerprint and FaceID helps too.

IPS display is probably the reason why I'd like to get this phone.

Anonymous, 24 Jun 2020Why are they still using ips lcd display in a 500 Euro phon... moreBacause IPS lcd's are better then a lot of oleds, and this phone is not 1500 to afford the best quality oled their is. Also, the price is justified because of the antenna it supports, only the chip that supports 5g costs way more then the older 4g capable ones. The prices will go down with time, but for the moment, 5g devices are pricy, and let's not forget this device is the only one supporting all the bands 5g has till date, that is another extra pay.

Why are they still using ips lcd display in a 500 Euro phone, 10 years ago mid range nokia phones like c7 had oled display.

grii, 18 Jun 2020Such a shame. I was going to support Nokia and jump all ove... moreWhy? Ips lcd's are better for battery life then Oleds, no matter what others say, olend does not turn off any pixel in android because their is no real blacks in the system, henche consuming way more battery the LCDs. As for Nokia ips lcd's they are really good. Take a look at 7.2 their is a very small difference to Amoled. I don't know why, but i would prefere IPS over Oled in flagships, well, nobody does that.

Anonymous, 19 Jun 2020You still have Sony option, LG , Asus, buy sony if you want... moreHi,
I would like to stay further with Nokia, but actual 2.3 makes me nervous because of many probs I am having last few months.
Prob is with this 2Gb RAM and makes everything slower.
I tried before few days to repair my Nokia 7 plus, but there is no repair parts in EU because of virus and stopped delievering.
I should to buy better phone with minimal 4Gb RAM and with this one or future 9.3 could take my chances.

Plus Nokia runs nearly stock Android and will get updates up to 3 years! Redmi's UI is problematic and will not get updates the same way as Nokia does.

                                        ::facepalm::

From my perspective this phone comprise with 3 things which is:-

                                        1. It based on Android one (cofirm of android updates and it's ecurity patches for 3 consecutive years compared to redmi/xiaomi MIUI which full of ads and bloatware.

                                        2. This phone are based of 7nm chip/processor compared to 12nm chip/processor on redmi.

                                        3. This phone has the capability of 5G connectivity which the redmi does not.

Hopes that makes you a bit more clear.
