But now all the important components such as image sensors, lenses with large aperture and other supporting harware such as OIS are available for all OEM's at relatively affordable prices so processing software is the most important determinant and so far Google is still the best in terms of photos and Apple in video quality.

Redmi Note K30 5G is not the best phone but overall it still better and cheaper than Nokia 8.3 5G, most people with comon sense make judgement by looking at the overall specs and features that's most people prefer Xiaomi over Nokia even in European countries Xiaomi have better sales than Nokia.
Redmi K30 5G comes with the same chipset as Nokia 8.3 5G it also has the same modem so you gonna get the same network coverage and if you think affordable phone with pop up camera can't be durable then please educate yourself by watching durability test of Redmi K20 Pro from JerryRigEverything.

Zeiss T* Lens only available on Xperia 1ii and Pro so Sony mid-range phones is not an option for someone who is easily fooled by marketing mumbo jumbo or the name of well known brands on it.
If you really care about updates stop wasting your money on Nokia phones and get Pixel 3a or any other Pixel phones because not only it has realiable camera in every conditions even without the name of well known lens maker on it but you'll also get the best support when it comes to updates for example Google updated the firat gen of Pixel phone from 2016 to Android 10 while Nokia 8 from 2017 stuck at Android 9.

Can we just get a decent spec phone with a 5.8" display at MAX!! You can't use these huge slabs properly with 1 hand. Yes you can kinda use them1 handed , but not without moving the hand. A phone with Nokia 7.1 dimensions with a better CPU/GPU and slightly bigger battery can't be that hard to make!!!

Will we ever see small sized phones? Is the plan to merge tablet and a phone? Even my 7.1 (149mm height) is uncomfortable in jeans pocket. And this one is 172mm in height.
Where's the pocketability? This one needs a purse already.

In addition I had serious issues using my 7.1 in Thailand because the screen just turns off itself in bright light, constantly. And even when it stays on, brighness level was automatically adjusted to minimum during daylight time, making the screen unreadable. HMD support said it is because of heat (yes, outside temp. was 30C celsius). So immediately leaving hotel room and the phone overheats!?!? Quite questionable if there is a "nokia" brand name on my next phone.

Let´s face it, HMD has failed to revive t... moreHMD has failed in every single way.. they never cease to disappoint me.. my whole family moved away from Nokia smartphones including my grandpa cuz his Nokia 6.1 started giving him issues. 🤦🏽♂️ Nobody will miss Nokia when they die or cease to exist like before.. Nokia sucks!!!

Tha... moreI used to be like you in the past until my eyes were open to better smartphones and realised I have been ripped off for so long using Nokia smartphones.. Nokia is good but not good enough for me to pay 600 euros on that piece of metal. I'd rather pay 400 euros for a Xiaomi device because I know they will try as much as possible to shove my throat with features that I would otherwise not need, but at least it's there and I won't feel cheated.. so yeah that's how I feel about Nokia Vs Xiaomi.. it's not even a competition anymore cuz Nokia started losing from 2019, when they gave us Nokia 7.2 with Snapdragon 660 processor at 300 dollars simply because it had a 32 MP camera.. that's about the only feature in the Nokia 7.2. HMD GLOBAL team has started smoking some shit cuz this is not the Nokia I used to remember.

Not to be mean or anything.. but I think Nokia should EXIT the smartphone space and crawl back to the cave they came from.. they are really embarrassing themselves.. I feel so ashamed of them.. one of the major reasons why I quickly moved to Xiaomi because they have the best offerings at such an affordable price.. nobody is willing to pay 600 euros for a smartphone company that has betrayed our trust.. coming from the Nokia 7 plus which was a phone plagued with so many factory defects such as screen freezing and charging port failure.. shame on Nokia. Nokia 8.3 with a price tag of 600 euros.. without AMOLED screen, gorilla glass 5 at least, UFS STORAGE and Snapdragon 855 at the very least!!. Goodbye Nokia.
