A word of advice for anyone thinking of buying a 9500: its a phone with a camera and internet access. All the other stuff on it as good as useless. The phone will not open any kind of spreadsheet or text document from another device. I've tried with my iMac and my windows XP laptop-it doesn't want to know no matter what format the files are saved in. Also it is not supported by Mac iSync so I can't share my contacts and calenders. You can't delete contacts. I bought this expecting to be able to work away from the office but sadly it doesn't live up to the job at all. Not a single application in the 'try&buy' folder will launch. Nokia PC suite lets me exchange files between PC and phone-fat lot of use that is since the files are incompatible with microsoft works. It looks flash but its a dead duck! If I could send it back, I certainly would as I'm now carrying around a fairly useless brick! Best of luck readers.

I have an older model 9210i which is only just over a year old. The screen became unreadable just before the garantee was up, I got it to the service centre a week or so afetr and Nokia simply said sorry no garantee, I mean a week and then no garantee... Now many functions are not capable of being used without opening so it is now no good. I need to buy a new phone or get this fixed. Is Nokia after sales service really this bad that I have no response from their sales team mailing addresses?

Nice phone. No worries about the size or the weight. You can't have it all packed into a matchstick box. But why to leave out the T9 predictive text (the thing that speeds up writing SMS messages on your phone keypad)?

I was just wondering how this compares to the Nokia 7710. I know there's no wifi on the 7710. Also, how does the 9500 compare to the new motorola 1010 that is coming out? I'm so confused on what to buy! These nokias seem a little on the large side and the 9500 has no vibration. Tell me your opinions regarding the comparison of this phone to the others I mentioned.

                        Hey Guys,
i just bought this 9500 yesterday, i think its a very good phone, except for connecting to the internet through Wi-Fi, i found it a little bit hard. i think you have to do some setup with your router, but what if you are connecting to a public access point? still havn't figured this out yet. missing the voice tag, vibration, i dont mind the camera. other than that i think its a perfect phone

This phone is allmost perfect. If the processor would be a little faster! Common, where can you find a phone with a qwerty keyboard, internet, camera, gprs, sound, picture, video etc, etc!! Look at the market of all smartphones! The Ericsson P 910 is godd but the keyboard is useless. This phone/laptop is a great creation from NOKIA. Even the older 9120 was good, even a bit faster, shame that it has not GPRS. Great job NOKIA!

it is a phone only for business users.the speaker phone is not all that good(9210 was better) and the phone is quite slow while switching between aplications, because of which the battery life is very high.the phone gets charged quickly. the camera is reasonably good(the image size may be small but the quality of pictures is very good).
i have used the 9210i previously and cannot say which one is better....bye

I'm an engineer and I’ve waited for the newest and best 90 series Nokia has to offer. But here are some of my comments about the N9500:

                                        *Vibration?!!!
                                        - I think all phones should come with "vibration call alert" in them!
Why, will the vibration affect the screen?
                                        *Voice tags?
                                        - HANDS FREE?!!! For the "on the go businessmen". Voice recognition is the future.
                                        *Touch screen?
-Touch screen would be nice. Like a mini tablet pc where the screen can be flipped 360 deg. I think the tablet pc configuration will the future of smart phones.
                                        *Keypads (compared to 9300)
I think it’s ergonomically designed. It’s more comfortable to use than the 9300 keypads. And please do something about the 4 buttons on the right side of the screen. I don't know maybe put them on the left side. LOL
                                        *Size?
The size is ok. I know if you make it smaller the keypad area size will reduce too. But can u still make it thinner and lighter?
                                        *Plastic all over!!!
-Please, professionals deserve better! Anodized Aluminum! Carbon fiber, LOL?…etc! They don’t drive plastic cars, it should go the same with their phones.
                                        *Speed…
                                        -FASTER!!!

                                        • I know if Nokia would release a phone with all those features or the “perfect phone”, it would be bad for the business. How can they pay for their RND team if they put all their technology in one basket and earn less? So what they do is delay the release of these new technologies to get maximum profit. Let’s face it its business. It will be bad for future sales. So let the guys on the “second level” do the inventing and the guys on the “first level” say what combinations of technology to release to the market.
                                        • So Until NOKIA releases the improved version of the 9500 communicator, I think the 9500 is a step closer to the future.
