Long live the S40 OS. Intuitive, fast - and most importantly, simple.
Not so sure about the Asha 300 though... As the poster below said, the C3-01 seems to be a better device.

looks like c3-01, but what a bummer it does not have VoIP or WiFi. I will look for Asha 303 which has those

I realised the advantage of android only since my bro bought an xperia mini. Man there is apps for each and everything. And there is almost nothing you cant do with android.
And I agree that the s40 os cant utilise 80% of the 1ghz clockspeed since the os is java based on MIDP. Besides the lack of multitasking also doubles the amount of wasted hardware.
The phone lacks a proper os, atleast an open-os. Then only we can utilise the added ROM by customising the system files and make it do wonders as the case with s.e cedar..
All-in-all asha is entirely good in the hardware part, but putting and s40 os in it made the numbers a gimmick, nokia should have put s60 in it.
However, your comparison with galaxy y is a bit off-league. Considering the price range of Y. Dont you?
Besides within next year, ARM processor prices are going down by 30%, means even basic phones are going to get smart os
So i'l be waiting for a 5k smartphone, possibly droid..

I think this fone is good enough by searching internet, but by browsing through Opera Mini , it will be more faster.

This is good phone...
i can play hundreds of JAVA Games in 240x320 size . . . .
i can surf into d internet for free (this is a trick that other brand phone cant do, depend to d area or network) ... Wi-Fi is not working at the middle of the SEA. Hehehe,

"Cedar- qvga at 15fps in hq mp4... moreIn case you didnt know, until it was launched, cedar was suppossed to be a vga at 24fps recording device. But de-graded at the last moment so that cedar wont affect zylo's market.
Just search its original white papers.

When it was out the downside was it heavily compressed the images, leaving jpeg artifacts and there was a zooming problem while recording video after 2.0x.
As of now, the compression is removed, the image quality is back like before and good as a c5 Now we're working on the zooming pblm.
