this feature phone is ok...
but Nokia can release successful qwerty smartphone E5 model with trackpad and 800 processor with name Asha 401 and dual sim version with Asha 402 for different markets without much change in design and even weight ... this smartphone would become instantaneous success when priced at same Rs. 8000 - 9000/- at this may 2012...

Misquitas, 04 May 2012To be honest, I have not bought the Nokia Asha 302, but pla... moreI bought it, I am using it, and I am loving it.
But, let's face the facts. I agree, this phone does offer the essential feature as the budget phone. I agree, no one expect a sport feture for a microwave machines.
But, I DO expect something new on this phone or even a microwave machines, unless they are $20 made-in-china products And I do believe, so as a crtics of nokia's asha 302.
(my friend said, his phone was quite new for him as it can offer him a basic features like a call and a text messaging despite of the fact that it costs only $20!)
If you already have C3, you probably notice, there is nothing very new except old fashioned business style like, changing CPU.
Perhaps you would say, or even I myself said before, "get a real! It is too much to ask for the budget phone like this one" But, I still admit as some people complain about this phone, there is still something missing on this very phone.
If nokia's CEO or even blackberry's CEO think, changing the OS would do the jobs for them just because they still have a lead on the development countries. I must say, they are wrong. And never ever beat the companies like apple or even samsong again. A OS shall be the new because it offers us something new! Not a OS itself.
That's what I am worried about as I've seen what nokia's doing for their own baby phones like this one right now. May be, I am the only one saying that. Thanks.

Both are not visible at the same time. Its not the best of course but its something I can live with considering the other features of this phone.

Debaashish, 03 May 2012I like, Melvyn, the way you have explained the need for a s... moreTo be honest, I have not bought the Nokia Asha 302, but plan to do so shortly. I normally avoid phones when they are hot off the oven. Reason? They are invariably priced the highest and the rates drop significantly within the next few months.
At present, I'm using the Nokia X2-01 (qwerty) and if people consider the Asha 302 a dumb-phone, the Nokia X2-01 could well be classified as "pre-historic".
By then, not many would want to admit that "dumbphones" can and do offer the necessary/essential/useful features, most used by most people most of the time. Consider the following features present/available in my Nokia X2-01:
It plays music.
It has radio.
It has games.
It has an alarm.
It sends and receives clear calls.
It sends and receives text messages.
It has a physical QWERTY keypad.
It has a simple interface.
It has an alarm/calandar/calculator.
It can check email.
It has bluetooth/Wi-fi/3G facilities.
It has a basic camera.
It does NOT have a touch screen.
It is rugged and durable.
What more would I want from a phone? After all, critics of Nokia Asha 302 should remember that it is, after all, a phone. Or maybe, people are expecting it to sport features of a microwave oven (given the fact that a phone, after all, also deals with radio waves).

If this is some kind of C6 then i can also do some tweak to make it multitask. I think it's a good phone but i have a question for all of you guys Nokia asha 302 (i can make it multitask with free net) or Samsung Galaxy Y S5360 (and i can root this one with free net also vpn and have a full control over the system.)

Hai frenz!! I have been a Nokia User for quite long time (Model 3310 to N8). One thing i am inferred from my long term association with Nokia is : The handsets manufactured in Chinese Plants (Boxes with Made in China) are of worst quality and the performance is unreliable and fast detoriating one (voice breaking, call droppings, showing full signal but our voice not heard by the receiving end etc). Handsets made in other country is excellent. I request Nokia authorities to look into it.

I couldn't agree more with you. I presume you have bought or are using Asha 302. If yes, what's been your experience with this phone? Would you mind dissecting it feature-wise purely from a user's perspective?

[deleted post]I am quite sure there must be a dozens? of decent review out there right now. So, no need to worry about this phone.
But, the truth is that, all the sites are kind of biased at some level. So, I would say, just get used to it.

If you can find a used-phone, may be you can test this phone to see if its ok.
That's exactly why I didn't buy samsong's budget phone like Young. Unless otherwise, I probably regret it right now.
Take your time. Make it sure Wifi works for you.

1) May be, I am not answering your question. But, its definitely better than friend's $20 made-in-china phone!
2) 3.5G works if its availabe. Wifi works at least for me. But, some people complained about wifi as they could not connect to the internet. It seems nokia already give us a solution. But, no confirmation so far. Just google it.
3) I am not quite sure how do I answer your question as you say "quality". But, I would say, get a real camera if you are really interested in taking a photo with "quality". That's also exactly the budget-phone camera is.
4) Hard to say. Because it depends on your phone company too. But, I would say, still better than C3 if wifi works for you. But, may be, no need to buy this phone in hurry if you already have C3, unless its broken.
5) I would say, cost-performance is quite good, instead. But, once again, your intensions are not quite clear for me as you say "overall performance".
Nokia makes their phones for their own. You have to but it at least once just to figure that out. Like some people say, they don't quite get it as nokia makes a phone like this one. Some people like me still like it, but some people like you may be don't like it.
Like I say, AT YOUR OWN RISK. I am not taking any respobsibilties for anything.

I'am soon gonna buy this phone as am liking it very much, though have some doubt about this phone.
1.How is the audio quality in headphones/loudspeaker?
Is it better than 5130?
2.3G and Wi-fi works well and up to mark or not?
3.Hows the Camera Quality?
4.Internet experience better or not than older S40 phones or not?
5.Overall Performance?
