I have been using this phone for a while now. and here are the pros n cons according to me :
PROS:-
Good build quality,
Good battery back up,
Loud speaker sound,
good touch responses.
CONS:-
NO Popular apps available as of now,
poor graphic games,
cam quality not so good,
cheap headphones,
no USB provided,
phone restarts when tried to open big web pages or play large .avi video files,
less RAM,
small screen,
browser doesn't support JavaScript.
in short, its the best feature phone available at present for basic needs.
just dont expect anything extraordinary or smartphone features.

hav u guys ever tried sammy's galaxy low end phones ? i dont think so because if u had tried u shouldnt have complained about its build quality ok. low end galaxy phones got better hardware than nokia they support watsapp, viber and all social networking apps not to forget HD games and high quality .mkv videos but yeah Nokia 501 is roccckkkiiinnnnggggg too !!! its battery backup is awesomeeeeee

NOKIA surely rocks see the popularity % of this mobile it is far greater than any highend phones nokia 501 is the best mobile in this price range

listen buddy, NOKIA is NOKIA. no other devices can beat NOKIA. it was at the top and will always remain at the top. you cant change the minds of NOKIA lovers by posting your fooly reviews. NOKIA - just the name is enough.

1)....Well, let me tell you even chinese cheap cell phone gives 9-10 hour talk time (having 1600 mAh battery).
2)...Next thing in android you have Very basic apps (like whatapps,viber,etc) which this lacks.
3)...No GPS..?? what no gps?? sounds weird...yes that right no GPS..then whats the use of maps?? lol
4)... 133ppi is good?? even chinese Crap mobile has beter ppi (~212++).
5....chinese andiord has NOW got decent battery i.e. 5-6hrs Talk time...and 5Hrs Wifi+data CONTINUOUSLY usage time..
6...Then tell me single reason why to buy this not cheap Chinese android dualcore mobile + GPU (in same price) which can also give 6 hr talk time?

Hi, I hae a perhaps stupid question. If i have a dual card verson and use it with one card only, the stand-by tie will be the dual or the single card time?

I eventually bought Nokia Asha 501 two days ago. It looks good in the hand with a good price. But it lacks some things I usually use in phones.
1. I cant locate any file I transfer using Bluetooth either in Mem Card or Phone Mem.
2. Browsing is very slow and sometime disconnects even when other phones in the same area on the same network are working.
3. The Nokia switch is not working on it. I cant synchronize my Note, calendar and sms from other Nokia phones as I used to do.
4. Does not support Nokia Suite for PC link. This is a big minus for me.
5. It rejects most of my usual Java Apps that worked on other Nokia phones.
6. No group Contact and no way to check how many contacts I have on the phone.
Besides all the above, the phone looks good and fashionable in its class.

2- it's not legal everywhere to use camera without shutter sound

4- Why u need it
5- set as ringtone option is present and is very easy.. u don't need to copy files here and there.
6- equaliser and folder playing option is not present even in other high end smartphones
7- as soon as u go to lockscreen u get all ur notifications...
Overall it's a nice phone in its price range..
