Now a days everything is on web, so we need a good browsing support mobile. i mean it should support java script.
Todays internet era we need a phone which supports good browsing.
I like Nokia, but i am disappointed by this phone, we can say a basic phone with good battery backup and messaging.

I hv been using this phone for a week now. Here are some pros and cons-
Pros-
Good build quality n design,
Great battery backup,
Loud speaker,
Responsive touch.
Cons-
Lack of important apps,
Small screen size,
Cheap headphones,
Poor quality games,
Cant play large video files,
Browser does not support javascript n copy paste features,
No usb provided in the box,
Freezes a bit sometimes,
Less RAM,
No multitasking,
Not a smartphone.
well, it is a good device for basic purposes like calls and messaging.
But in todays age, i believe,its not enough.
Nokia have to do something better. They need a turnaround to regain market share.
On the other hand, after using this, i think samsung galaxy star is a better option than this phone. its a feature phone,not offering much in terms of features specifically. Though nokia 501 excels in hardware n design aspect, internals are very cheap n feeble.
Well no one wants a good looking phone with no features.
It can be a good secondary phone though.
I am disappointed with this nokia phone. I bought it as my primary device and i am not getting what i expected from it.

However, it all depends on users only as to what they want a "feature phone" or a "smartphone".
Nokia 501 is a feature phone , its great for basic needs like calls n messages. If u expect more from it, it will surely disappoint u.
Where as samsung star is the better option as it offers more features as compare to nokia 501 in the same price range.
Its matter of nature of use, choose phones accordingly..

gaps, 10 Jul 2013does whatsapp work on asha 501 like android phonesAfter 2 days of hands on experience. I'm posting my observations.
1) Size is super good for the people having small hands and ladies.
2) Fell from my hand 5 times. (For me the size and grip is not good).
3) Battery backup OK. I used phone for calls for 1 hour and 2G browsing for 2.5 hours. Battery is at 0%.
4) Display is OK.
5) Camera is worst.
6) I didn't find a way to install Whatsapp.
7) Multitasking is myth in this phone. Really not working.
8) Browser is OK. Restarted automatically twice while loading heavy content sites.
Overall OK phone, but not worth as the price. It should not be more than INR 2500.

This phone is better than all Micromax phones. Sorry Micromax, Nokia is still the best.
