It's very good for secondary device and much better than those cheap android phones...which IMO are good for nothing...

This phone is a " feature phone ". It does not support javascript so most of the apps will never be created or ported to this phone. So imo android phones anytimes will be better than these java based os phones.
As far as os is concerned... asha plateform 1.0 is nowhere near to android. And if u are saying that asha is better than android, then definitely either u r die hard nokia fan or u know nothing about technology.
Even nokia board thought the same like u and lost their major market share from 70% (2007-08) to 19% (2012-13).
And for ur kind info, nokia will be producing android phones from next year to regain its market share.
However i still believe, it can be a good backup device. Its good for basic needs.

Been using this little peach for just over a week now and its great, great battery back up, features, connectivity and the build is strong all in all a good little handset.
The OS is nice to work with very user friendly I also have a LG L3 2 and this Nokia 501 wins hands down purely because Android is such a resource hungry platform which consumes a lot of Battery life and imo is a terrible OS as with 501 OS its a joy to use.

If you want a phone primarily for making calls and messages, Asha 501 is a good option. But if you want a phone that can handle more than calls and messages, Galaxy Star is a better deal !!

Unable to send contacts and notes through text msg. No phone profiles and contact groups.As it is a basic phone, it must have above features.
