I have a good sentiment for Nokia from this phone, the Asha 501 is starting a small revolution in the phone world and to the best of my opinion, I see this lineage grow to include more variants, bigger specs but remaining with a comparatively modest price tag. Nokia has a niche market and it seems poised to develop it further. Good to see Nokia's fortunes turn for the better.

This is phone for kids under 12.
It is better to buy used Nokia N8 for the
same price than this crap phone.
Three best phones from Nokia in last
three years are N8, N9 and Nokia 808.
The rest phones are big mistake.

boy o boy ,wat is nokia upto ??Im a common middle family guy from india n yet i can say no to dis product ,yes d designs awsum kinda iphone4 bt features ???r dere devs n engineers out of mind $99 means 11000 bucks near about ,n dat too 4 a ph widout 3g,keep ur swipe feature wid u bt u r still behind dan other ,dis ph shud hv been priced around 5 k at most.

Well, the design is cool, it looks much the same as Nokia WP8 smartphones. The specs are okay for $99, but I'm afraid the pixel density will let you see all the pixels. They'd better use 340*480 display for that display size. The only minus is that it doesn't have 3G, it only has 2.5G which is not as cool as it could be. It's said that it'll have 3G in the latest versions. To sum it up, the device is cool for its price.

If this was something which would change the gears of nokia its a shame for finns.the count down has began and very soon the nokia in its major business place(india)will become a history.just look at the specifications 64mb ram no 3g either not a huge app world i mean what kind of big announcement was this which made at least me eager to know.and at last what came to me a wothless nokia asha 501. The budget segment, but at least they could add more RAM. I bet even an Opera Mobile won't be steady with that 64 MB.
