How to update firmware: (via Ovi Suite)
1.U have to install Nokia OVI SUITE on your computer first. U can get the apps from Nokia website. download it and install on your computer.
2. Connect your C5 to computer using USB cabel thats come in the package and select Ovi suite on C5 screen during initial connection.
3. Run Ovi Suite, and the apps will detect your C5. Then u have to click on Software update button at right up on Ovi suite.
4. The rest, Ovi suite will check latest firmware for your C5, u just wait it finish the job. Dont disconnect the USB cabel from your C5 during downloading and installation of new firmware. If it does, your C5 will damage.
5. After installation complete, your C5 will restart automatically. then it will ask your region, date and time. You have to set it as a new set. Everything will looks new.

Friends it s very nice phone. I'm using since last two months.. After updating my firmware i didn't face any problem.. I've installed 16applications,all are working fine including divix player..

Great classic phone! wonderful symbian s60 OS, which has soo many little cool features. i really love this phone because it's so simple. not like high-end very expensive phones.. c5 has a very good features for its price range. if u buy high-end phone spending several hundreds of dollars it only lasts for few months, in another 6-8 months new phone comes n replace the old expensive phone. In my opinion C5 is a really good phone to use. i will encourage to buy it!!!

arup, 11 Dec 2010dear c5 users when i going to install any 3rd party softwar... morejust search for certificate installation on the web. u will surely get many, many websites which give u step by step info to get ur own certificate (each imei no has its own cert.) now download some signer like FreeSigner and sign all the apps which show errors.
Note:u will be shown a warning saying u r using an app signed with developer certificate. u have to agree if u want to install d app u want.
or just hack your phone using some thing like helloox or drakkarious.. (if u succeed pls tell me how u did..)

manas, 11 Dec 2010is c5 having 3G with front camera facility? is internet spe... moreyes dear internet speed is very nice i m using vodafone connection which is not having 3g services available but still getting nice speed on mobile & related front cam i just can say that its use full when you are chatting with some one & wants to send your photo to him or her you can send via front cam

Hey every one, nokia claims C5 to have 600 Mhz processor but on checking using many softwares like F-explorer, Y-browser and NetQin mobile guard its true CPU comes out to be just 192 Mhz. So the phone is not as fast as a symbian phone is supposed to be. Rest all is great with it.

I've updated with new firmware ( 061.005 ) but i did not face any problem as you said that phone memory decreased automatically in my cell its same as it was anyways buddy i can suggest you to update the firmware as its quite use full with new version with batter sound quality on loudspeaker as well head set getting smilies & quick office
