Hi Guys,
Is there any error showing while enabling contacts bar after the firmware upgrade. My phone is showing some error. The error is "Error occurred when activating theme. So applications may not be shown in standby view". Please say if anyone have it's solution...

Hey can someone pls share a link from where the new update (061.005) can be downloaded? I checked the Nokia Europe/India/Asia-pacific sites but the latest update shown on those is 032.010

Follow the given process to update the handset firmware
press *#0000# to check the current version
press option key & selecte CHECK UPDATES that will provides you available new version for the firmware & just download the same it won't charge you anything only data usage charges wil b applicable & yes main important thing is you wil not loose any of your data all installed application will remain same
its batter to update the same from the handset only will take nearly 10-15 mins in between ( while the handset is getting updated ) handset will be restarted automatically so pls do not use any applications once your handset gets updated you will enjoy a whole new experince as i had updated & found it very nice after updation just go for it

kayc, 09 Dec 2010C3 has it's own strengths. Nokia has made it as a messaging... moreBut you can always install 3rd party softwares in C5 to chat and view conversation sms.

hi when i check software update from phone, its showing latest version as 032.010. Why the latest version 061.005 is not available to me? my current version is 031.022 and living in punjab (india)

i would like to inform you that C3 is java base ... moreC3 has it's own strengths. Nokia has made it as a messaging-optimized phone. So it has decided to package it's messaging software and services with C3 but not with C5. Eg. SMS conversation view and IM chat on gtalk and ymessenger.
There is no technical reason why C5 should not have supported those. But nokia decided that given the price, they don't want to make customers too happy.

colin, 08 Dec 2010does the gps work if mobile is not connected to the internet?yes gps works without data connection. only it is slower in
getting a position fix (2mins without v/s 5-10 seconds with).

the new firmware is really amazing ... my C5 volume is higher & the sound quality is better too ... go & upgrade urs ... there is no hanging or restarting problems in the new software

i would like to inform you that C3 is java base (40serise) handset were as C5 is symbian base handset you can not use multipal function in C3 were as in C5 you can use multipal functions at a time i can suggest you that C5 is far batter than C3. having 3g service in C5 handset & C3 is not having 3G service
