I am from Sri lanka and our network support upto 7.2mbps. looking at tech specs like Wifi/5mp cam/etc I will go for C5 as my main requirement is user friendly interface, decent bit of applications only. Even I will not use the Camera. C5 processor is never and speed compare to N79. So only thing I really gonna miss here is Accelerometer and Navi wheel. But C5 is priced 30% - 35% lesser compare to N79. Most probably i'll go for C5

com'on, get real!, 16 Aug 2010Got the unit today, bought from ebay $215.50(australian dol... moreThat's prolly becoz of the matt plastic back, but that's a good fingerprint resistant. The battery cover is also made of steel, and it also has a steel bordering, so it should look nice.
BTW, did u buy the grey or white one? :)

Got the unit today, bought from ebay $215.50(australian dollar). it great! thin, light and simple.
it feels(when you hold it) cheap tho, but doesn't matter, that's what i get for this price and considering it's brand new.only use this for messaging and calls. other features are just bonus, esp the 600mhz processor.

N79 is almost 2 years old now
C5 has better dimensions (width, thickness)
N79 has Navi wheel and accelerometer
N79 has slightly larger screen
C5 has external memory of upto 8 16GB, n79 ha 8 GB (but apparently, N79 gives a 4GB memory card with the box, while the C5 gives a 2 GB one
C5 has better GPRS and much better 3G network, but N79 has WLAN.
The N79 has a better camera, but apparently reports state that the performance is not very good.
The C5 has a updated user interface (Symbian 9.3) over N79 (Symbian 9.2) and also a better processor (600 VS 369 MHz)
C5 has more messaging options, but N79 has a better radio, including the visual radio.
N79 has TV-out, but C5 has social integration.
N79 has N-gage gaming
C5 has a better battery and also a lower cost.
So, compare for urself and make a choice. :)

But the C5 has a 3.5mm audio jack, stereo speakers, slightly larger internal memory, slimmer dimensions, social integration, Full GPS with A-GPS support and a better battery (not to mention a lower cost)
SO u can see which one is better, go for C5 man! :D

HI I am stuck between N79 and C5. I know C5 lacking wifi and 5MP camera. I am ok with it as I don't use both of them. But Navi wheel is too good feature to miss in this phone. what are your suggestion C5 or N79.

it is fully made and packed from china
there nothing scary about this mobile
net speed is good if u right conections
i mean try voda or bsnl it works great and u can connect it to ur pc and it works fine
but plz first install an antivirus
any thing about this phone any one wants to know plz ask me
i studied it for whole 18hrs
and i say go for it
