Got this baby in July 2010, and just recently got the Lumia 900 on contract.... I still have this phone as a spare and, yes, an awesome little phone, wouldn't sell it for anything.

I purchased a C5-05 on 5th June, 12 that has not worked
reported the same with NOKIA but NOKIA is unable to resolved the issue
NOKIA kept this set on observation from 18 June to 19 July and gave me saying thatthey cud not repair the set and hence replaced the set but again after three days it went out of order and the mobiel is still with NOKIA
PLZ DONT TRUST NOKIA for sophesticated and costly sets
its only good for set below Rs. 2000/-

C5-00.2(C5-5mp) user here. How can I play videos(e.g., .3gp videos) with subtitle file in .srt format? Is there a 3rd party app. video player like vlc player I can use to watch a movie together with its subtitle file? Or is there a way to combine the video and subtitle file in one video file? Thanks in advance.

My favourite phone ever, if it has the wi-fi, it would be perfect. They should install opera mobile by default

I think u have forgotten an application where in built a universal installer called install server+ or rompatcher or xplorer.. U nid that all.... Then ur problem solve.

Battery life is very good, camera is just ok and screen brightness is pretty useless outside unless its dull and overcast. Screen looks ok inside but doesn't give much choice in font size or display brightness.
Biggest issue is the software which is the truly appalling ovi suite. A not very smart phone is crippled by it. And the support and manual are so poorly thought out and written that they cannot be relied upon to help you get what little functionality the software can provide. In terms of efficiency as a phone you would be better off with an older model that doesn't use the software, if you want a smartphone this is not it.
Consider, the music player can't even read folders, you have to open the office section and then the file manager if you want to use this storage system for podcasts, music etc.
So it may meet a price point but consider all the frustration and time you are going to have to spend scrolling though menus trying to get the thing to perform functions apart from texting and calling. Basically it's built on a dead end software that almost brought down the entire company, one the company itself has given up on, so why waste your time trying to learn it?

what can i do with my ovi maps in nokia c5.. Its feature disappear.. So the maps navigation do not work.. So i could not use it.. How my maps feature would it back? Could u help me to fix it. Tnx

awesome föne
i had old model 3.2 mp i bought it in 2010 its nearly 2 years bt its as good as new bt fr dat i updated it regularly
camera is good i used it fr video call ovi map was a shit so i download google map nw using gps with it
good for sending mails with attach ments reading ebooks nd docs and can be used as 3g modem offers good speed
also multitasking can be done easily
all this at reasonable rate
