thepineapple1, 01 May 2010the screen is pathetic. if i had known it was this bad i wo... moreI agree completely. I replaced my 6120c with the C5, and compared to the old 6120c the quality of the display is awful. It is very difficult to read outdoors, I find it unacceptable. A real pity, since every other aspect of the phone is great. The C5 is going back.

Before proper review appears, i'd like to tell about downsides of this phone.
I'm not going to speak again that phone is made from cheap components, it reflects in its price.
Firstly, ear speaker is low quality.
Calendar ir rubbish, especially when it comes puting down your friends B-days.
Very annoying camera false shutter sound cannot be turned off, you just can choose of other stupid 3 sounds.
I have found disappointment, when there was no option to make one of the customisable buttons "locking keypad".
A bug with voice records. After you use a voice recorder, you may not be able to see them in a "voice records folder". You can do that only by conecting to your PC and browsing the same folder on memory card.
A little bit annoying on/off button made together with "hang up" button. An extra press always asks to switch between enviromental settings.
Screen viewing angle is not good.
And the most stupid thing about C5, that after "battery low" sound, screen backlight basically cuts out. Which means, outside, in the bright daylight you cannot see anything in the screen. So phone becomes unusable. Exept from answering your calls. And for your annoyance, while battery is low, you still can use energy sucking apps like camera, music player, satnav and etc. but you cant see them in your screen. How clever is that nokia??? WTF?

I even would consider this low viewing angle as the security enchantment. People can't peep my phone display. :)

First of all, I don't read messages on direct sunlight or read messages or operate the phone in a difficult angle. I ALWAYS use cellphones straight in front of my eyes and face facing the screen\. Not in angles or direct sunlight. In fact I've NEVER done that before.

the screen is pathetic. if i had known it was this bad i would probably have reconsidered getting this. the E52 seems like the C5 but is just a lot better built. If you turn this phone to any angle while holding it, you will not be able to read the screen. the contrast is incredibly bad. its not something you can look over and say "oh well". i can not believe nokia released this phone with such a broken screen.
