According to Nokia's blog, "The Nokia C5 boasts a cool new feature in its phone book, where you can see your friends’ status updates directly from Facebook. You can also update your Facebook status easily...." "The homescreen will show off your favourite three friends for easy access to calling and messaging whilst Nokia Messaging enables you to keep in touch on IM using Google Talk or Windows Live Messenger," adds the blog.

    Sounds cool!

& yes, its not a new series (C), its a new numbering system Nokia is going to adopt. C for lower end, X for entertainment, E for business and emails, N for high-end and S for very upscale and limited edition. Company is also expected to announce the launch of other C series phones this month, including, Nokia C5 00 (which is this one), Nokia C3 00 and Nokia C5 01.

It is expected to be priced at very low (around 8500/- INR) so don't expect wi-fi & everything. Features are justifiable to price tag. Good one Nokia!

Nice! I like the approach the new C-series are taking on. Running on a 600mhz arm11 cpu, this thing should be pretty snappy. Also, the metal used in it seems to give it a very refined, classy look. Sweet phone!

this sucks.. ya folks better look at the 5630xm.. comes with wifi and the same specs. camera may not be as good (as with fixedfocus) but i reckon most of you have digicams or DSLRs at yer disposal. the 6720 if i remember has 5mp. that's a better choice..

Is this phone specific for Chinese market ? because WiFi is illegal in china. In Europe, WiFi is considered an important feature. So, where will they launch it ?

Apart from the phone design (which some like and some don't), only if the screen size would have been increased from 2.2" to 2.4", it would have become more better as with 112 mm length which the phone has, Nokia could have made that 2.4' inches possible. If the exact features of this phone are found to be true what this gsmarena website says, this phone will become lightest symbian phone in the world running on series 60 (and may be slimmest too). Very good in that respect if it ends up having decent enough processor combines with 128mb RAM (at least) to facilitate hassle-free multi-tasking.

"The letter signifies the type of phone - business phone, flagship, entertainment-centric phone, etc."

I guess C is for CRAP, same symbian phone from 10 years ago. Nokia wake up this is 2010!
