Coming to your point of alternatives, you do have quite a bit options of the budget you mentioned. If you specifically want to go for Nokia, then in your budget you can either go for Nokia N97 mini (if you need (qwerty), Nokia n97 mini has a better build quality, better camera and better speakers, magnetometer, TV out and is lighter then C6. If you do not need qwerty then you can go for X6, I will suggest 16gb version (X6 dont have a option of expandable memory).....
If you are ready to sheel out more cash then you can even check out Nokia N8, the price for N8 is going to be between 24000-25000 INR.
If you are open to mobile phones from other companies then let me know and I will try and suggest some good ones.

between the battery and the
chip.
I did it yesterday.
I have 24 hours without any
problems with c6.
I use a phone very often.
Internet, gps, email.
Now it works without any
problem.
Before that I had a hangs 10
times a day.

go for x6...i went to buy c6 but nokia ppl sais that camera, music n memory is better of x6...i bought x6 n i love it...it has no problems...

I bought C6 on 9th October and poted a comment on 10th October about the hinge being bit noisy and requested some of the exisitng users to check if they get a similar noise.....however as none of the good people on this forum reverted to my comment, so I am a bit disaapointed but I am still posting thsi comment to help anyone who wanted to buy this phone.
The firmware version of my c6 was V11, and from a software perspective there was no problem, no hangs and freezes, yep the battery life was a bit low but still decent. However over the period of 3 days the hinge of the phone started giving me problem, fist it was just a bit noisy then it started wobbling, I noticed that with regular use of the slider mechanism the hinge was becoming loose...and yesterday it became so loose that the upper half of the phone (screen part) was wobbling even if I was shanking the phone... I was lucky to get a replacement but decided to go for N97 mini as the hinge mechanism is far more durable....
So a word of advise, if you want to buy C6, go ahead and buy one as it is a veryy good phone and real value for money, but do check the slider mechanism for any play before buying.....
As no one reverted to my initial comment I assume that this was just a one of scenario...but didnt wanted to take any chance so decided to go for N97 mini

i agree with all of you do you remember NOKIA had extended c6's release date again & again in INDIA because that was the problem (hang Low voice etc) It's a bullshit All who gonna purchase c6 i will suggest you to wait for C6-01

gnosis, 13 Oct 2010i bought C6 july'10 ... and than on late august my nightmar... morehey i have also got the same phone but no complains its working perfectly. By the way hang dpend upon if you have used higher memory than supported. Its a perfect phone
