Now available in Australia (http://www.crazyjohns.com.au/nokia-c7-black/) but seriously frustrating that the silver is not released. I can understand that resellers don't want to manage too many SKU's and the 6? colors that the N8 comes in is a problem but give me a break, with the black people will think it is an android/iphone. Surely the silver is one of the biggest differentiators Nokia have at the moment?

My *new* phone arrived today. All I can say is I love it. I won't be sending it back. It came partially charge with 2-3 bars & the battery hasn't died yet & I've done lots with it. I have all my widgets setup. Excuse me. So I'm really happy with it.
The sound is really good. When listening to the same song on my 5800 & on my C7, the 5800 is only slightly louder, hardly you can still here the C7. The 5800 in no way overpowers it. Plus you need to face the c7's loudspeaker to your face. The sound is good, clear.
I'll need to play more songs on it to tell if I can hear bass. I think their is some but it's still great. The clarity, detail make up for that. It's def not tinny but adequate. If you want good sound, just plug in headphones. It excells here too.
I have everything working flawlessly. I have email client widget hotmail setup & too many to list across 3 homescreens. It came pre loaded with 2 songs, 1 video & 12 pics I think. Rider video looks good & it won't play on 5800. 5800 doesn't support the video file format.
It came with Paramount, National geo, CNN, BBC Iplayer. Office comes with adobe reader, quick office reader, notes, dictionary, pdf reader, message reader which is a program which uses teh voice recognition to read your messages for you. It came with Psion traveler, calculator, Voice recorder, Zip, F secure, X factor.
Only the Paramount widget was setup on homescreen 3. The BBC Iplayer & X factor were in applications. The others are somewhere else. But you can adde them when you turn the homescreen into edit mode & add applications....
When you put your sim in, you will need something sharp to presse the SIM all the way in. Put hte SIM in in the way the picture shows you with the slanted edge to the top right corner. It's really sensitive is the touch screen. It looks just gorgeous & it's only set to medium brightness.
I need to buy a MicroSD card now. A 32GB one. I have 3 Music files, one camera image which is better with lower noise than 5800 & generally better quality overall. I also have used the Switch application to send contacts, notes over to my phone.
I have setup contacts on the homescreen aswell, & you can add as many as possible. The browser on startup has a really decent Google search field below the address field. It's very good, the keyboard is very accurate & brilliant tactile feedback is perfect.
Also Pinch to zoom works flawlessly within the gallery on the preloaded pictures, it works just aswell with camera images or bluetoothed cropped images from 5800 which have been used as contact images.
Also I like the brillian fact that you can directly call or message someone straight from the phonebook which by one tap. Their are multiple taps on 5800. Their were two minor glitches with the email client widget not working or the images pinch zoom or scrolling to next pictures. One reboot solved all that.
It's been working really fast with all the widgets. It's fast. I suspect the right speaker grill is for show. The left grill is Loudspeaker as everyone knows this now. I also like the dialler pad, when inputting numbers finds your contacts or even by letter I think aswell.
The build quality is just excellent. I marvelously impressed by build quality & it's pretty weighty aswell. All I can say is everything works ace. WIFI worked first time. Everything is super easy to setup & configure. I had to setup the timezone & switch on automatic time update & this is all fine now.
USB cable could be longer but I suspect you could probably use any nokia usb cable I guesse. The phone is so much better is person & if your not as bothered about the loudspeaker being just slightly lower, but hardly, then it's more than enough.
You'll fall in love with everything else that that won't matter because the phones looks gorgeous, works excellently, has excellent hardware. Peforms great.
Ok so vodaphone & this phone is very sensitive to signal & changes a lot & in general slower than orange, 3G is never shown beside signal bar, but the 3G in houses from vodaphone is not quite as good as oranges but they assure me it's on & off & that their is good coverage in my area. Is a bit slower than 5800 on orange previosly.
Despite all this the phone handles 2G calls well for a when a a low signal happens. 3G is slower when using Internet than on my 5800 with Orange. I don't think this is down to phones now, it's down to Operator coverage.
If anyone has any other questions I would be delighted to try & answer any questions for you. All in all it's an amazing device. It' looks beatiful 7 I dead happy with it. It can only get better from here for Nokia & Symbian.

i downloaded youtube app from ovi store but it is not working. it says "failed to initialize. you will not be able to search or play videos"
does anyone have the same prblm?

anon, 25 Nov 2010The same happened with me ... 3rd day phone was dead ... no... moremy phone also dead in the first day, but nokia has replaced with new one, now am using new c7 last 2 weeks, good performance camera n video clarity is very good, overall performance are very good.
