C5's RAM is just enough for me because I'm not a heavy user and why would I open many apps when I can only open them one by one? And as for the QWERTY keyboard, you're right, typing seems to be easier but I'm considering other features of the phone and not just it's keyboard. I've been reading reviews and opinions about Nokia C5 and E5. At first, I was convinced that I should go for E5 just because of its wifi and QWERTY keyboard but when I came to know its downside like poor display, poor photo quality from its 5MP camera and a lot more, I decided to go for what I loved first which is Nokia C5. Yeah, there maybe some downside of C5 like no wifi, no QWERTY, little screen and poor sounds, which is now fixed, but I don't care about it because I want a phone which I can use for taking pictures, playing music, playing games(a lot of games are available for 240x320 than 320x240), texting(I am used to keypad), for browsing anytime using 2g or 3g, which wifi can't offer because you neet a hotspot first, and a lot more. This is just my opinion. It all depends on the person's requirements what he will buy.

i'm using a C5, and its was like what you are saying.

E5 is physically good. camera is acceptable, video is ok, keyboard design and function is good. i had a 1st gen iphone then bought this for a change when it got stepped on. i had a lot of expectations, as iphone is definitely more easy to use overall, and better functionally. but i was also tired of the touch screen keyboard--which can sometimes be a pain. and plus im self-employed so no need for a more corporate catered blackberry.
ive had the E5 for about a year. next im going to get iphone5. no question.
Anyway, nokia used to have a solid system and extreme durability, as i remembered from pre-smartphone era. but i got to be clear. this OS is simply horrid. it deserves to die and be forgotten. its updates are of qustionable quality. i have no need for a bulkier web browser, and i am sick to death of trying to find the right page to change some setting. can take 20 mins!
plus its battery display is pointless. i had 6 bars one minuite, and after retrieving some mail, there was one bar left, and the thing starts to tell me it is goin into power saving mode.
and all this ovi stuff is a joke. i tried to connect once, and it told me it is no longer accepting any new sign-ups. meaning its not being suported anymore.
rather than ovi maps, which is okay, i prefer using google maps anyday. if you have a google account, and most people do, this makes far more sense.
the biggest reason i would not, and could not recommend this phone, is its outdated os. nokia used to have the biggest share in the mobile phone market, but resting on their laurels, they made no effort at all to pursue what users wanted. instead they started playing half-assed catch up to apples ios, which is obviously far superior, and despite its price, it is certainly not as frustrating, and i believe it delievrs a far more satisfying experience.
if you need a phone, quickly, like i did, and like a physical keyboard and a speaker loud enough to play music and a flashlight, then the E5 could be for you. but if you need a really good phone that will integrate with your computer and be not so time consuming, then go with something else.
also, i could not use this phone much more, because i deal with 3 languages, and there is absolutely no support for japanese, although it can display the characters. on this point alone, i would choose the iphone. it can deal with a good number of languages.
if nokia wants to see the light of day again, they should actually focus their efforts. do they want touch screen? or are there benefits that only the physical keyboard can have? choose a direction, stick with it, and refine it. this phone, though physically capable, is completely let down by its moronic os. really. its like using a 90s nokia all over again.
also annoying: it doesnt let iphoto erase the camera contents after import. little things like this, when it adds up, is a major turn off. it slowly robs you of your time.
so nokia, please decide if you even want to be in the phone business anymore. i think youve totally missed the boat. may as well give up.
and thats my honest opinion.

and no front cam are the disadvantages of E5. C5 has
no QWERTY keyboard which makes typing a bit difficult.
No WIFI in C5. If all the features are needed, one
should go in for C6-00, C6-01, E6, C7. E5 is also
called as value for money which C5 is not

But my problem now is what to buy, Nokia C5 5mp or this old one because one shop here in our country say that they already have stocks of the Nokia C5 5mp.I'm just worried that the camera might not be as good as the 3.2 because as I've observed, other Nokia phones with 5mp or more camera don't show very good quality. The color of the camera of C5 as compared to other Nokia 5mp or more phones is more vibrant and appealing to my eyes because it's clear. The sample picture of some Nokia 5mp camera here in gsmarena is quite dim. I'm very convinced that C5 is really a good phone in all aspects.

c5 is a good phone i agree
but there are more drawbacks when compared to e5
screen though 16m has very very poor viewing angle and sunlight legibility.
secondly dust entering the screen too much.
how can you say c5 is better than e5 only for one thing if you want video call

If c5-00 has wifi then E5 cant beat this cellphone.
C5 is better than e5 in all aspects. I m using C5 and my brother using e5.

1. Because it can display 16M colors which means better display and according to softpedia, E5's display is good at homescreen and menu but when you open some apps or the browser, the display becomes faded.
2. Because it has a better picture quality than E5 and other 5MP Nokia phones. Try looking at the picture sample in gsmarena's review of the two phones, zoom it and you'll notice that E5's picture is a bit distorted, maybe because fixed focus camera can give good pictures if it's less than 5MP. And besides, it can only show 256k colors that's why the pictures are dim compared to C5's. Anyone who say 256k can't be distinguished from 16M with the human eye is wrong because you can see a very big difference.
3. As for videocall, C5 is better because it has a front camera.
If you can live without wi-fi like me, just go for C5 because wi-fi is the only advantage of E5 over C5. Overall, C5 is better. Try reading softpedia's review and decide for yourself.

plz help me i got the nokia E5 from 15 days ago its very very nice ,but there is something happening i dont know what to do in it when my E5 says battery full after charging i disconnect the charger but unlike any nokia when i reconnect the charger it dosent give me batteryfull indication , i must open some programs or take a pic (to use it) then i reconnect it says battery full but even that not every time NB ( when charging finish it says battery full ) i just have the problem when reconnecting the charger or the usb it gives no indication or note or any sound that my battery is full ,is that normal or i must do something about it ( i updated the software and restored factory sett. and its the same plzzzz help
