You can silence you camera by installing silent camera - search for " silent camera " on mobile9.com
First it will tell invalid certificate
Sign the application ( 100 of posts are there in mobile9.com to help on "how to sign an application" )
Now install the application, you won't find an application icon anywhere - but now when you take photos ----- perfect silence !!!!!!
I think the application icon would be inside the camera hardware ( lol :-P )

As this phone is a business phone, so that its ok for the use of business purpose only, but in the sight of multimedia its sevice is very poor starting from sound quality, picture quality, specially video quality is very poor also in zooming option also in compare with 2.3/3 MP camera, the most disadvanages feature is backup, the battery backup is very poor quality. It gives maximum 17/18 hours talktime. Most of the time set get hang. Its my hand on experience....

Dont think that this works or this doesnt work .. Just buy it .. There r enough talented people out there who find every possible technique to run every software .. And typing on qwerty is too much amazing .. Even i m replying to this post using nokia E5-00 shitting in my washroom at the moment :) .. My recommendation .. Go for it :)

The only reason I changed it was because I bought an N8. In my personal opinion it offers for its price more than any other phone including BlackBerry. - Infrared port, almost no one uses it
- Battery
- Appereance
In the rest speed of the CPU, speed to connect to the network and everything else, including software. It is Better. So my recommendation. Buy a E5.

help required. I hve just purchased e5 and downloaded skype from ovi but after that due to some reason i hve reset the default settings. Now i wanna download skype again but download button on ovi is disabled whereas other application are downloading easily. I hve tried to download skype from web site but received a msg that another version of skpe is there but i could not found. Plz help to install skype. Thn

I just got this phone in black last week after having a black E63 for a year. This phone has some important improvements over my former E63.
-Newer version of Symbian, more features and with an upgraded processor and double the RAM memory everything is faster.
-Better materials, metallic battery cover
-Upgraded hardware including a 5mp camera with VGA video (compared to 2mp and QVGA video this is a step in the right direction), not stellar quality though.
-GPS which btw, works great and has free voice navigation, other extra software like upgraded OVI store, improved gallery, image editor and a better radio app (now with RDS).
-Better music quality and volume through headphones and speaker
The Lows
-Actually E63 had a better display, more colors and it had a transreflective layer underneath the screen so it was readable at direct sunlight. With the E5 I need to use light colored themes to read the display.
-No internet radio application (I´m using v42.014, I´m unaware if previous or newer versions have that application preinstalled). Anyway I´ve just downloaded a comparable application called Mundu Radio which works almost the same way, it even has some extras ;)
-It also lacked the high quality You Tube application my previous E63 had. I can still watch Youtube videos but the mobile version of Youtube sucks so bad and if I put the desktop version videos don´t fin on my screen. I downloaded a 3rd party app to pay Youtube videos via Real Player but it didn´t work.
Anyway those little shortcommings are nothing compared to the improvements (and my E63 was a very capable phone) I´ve gotten with the E5, so I highly recommend this phone over any E series previous QWERTY phone. It´s also cheap (It cost me the same as my E63 a year ago).

i believe that Nokia E5 is a very good phone. + can find every i want in a phone. Very good GPS, fast net browsing specially with Opera Mini, push mail service, good kamera, and ofcourse cheap one. The most effective defect is low sound quality i mean the loudspeaker

Hi All,
I am using this phone since its release in last year. I was using E72 early and replaced it with this E5.
E5 Dont have AutoFocus or Manual Focus for the Camera so even it is 5MP it delivers very poor images.
This phone lacks a front camera which e72 has so cant do video calls. Apart from that after the latest patch the phone now locks much better to GPS satellites.
