very poor display TFT, 256K colors, this is reason why this will be a cheep phone, only 220$
Im nokia e71 user, happy with this. [except i have to clear the dust under screen every 3 months.]

really amazing features... but just look at its keypad.. the real plastic keys just like Nokia 1100...typing is suppose to be hectic with this key pad...features are same like E72... no doubt why its so cheap compared to E72...

trully i really like this phone spec with such a cheap price but.. better nokia release unugly design phone like this anymore... C5 looks good design but for qwerty, this design too ugly but its spec so promising..
is this phone worth??

This is what the world is waiting for...The High Octane Smartphone in a Sheep clothing price. I think we have a iPhone beater in the making!
Keep up the great work Nokia and looking forward to more great stuff once the Symbian^3 is in full swing.

Hi, today, i inquired about E5,C6 & E71 in Bangalore gandhi nagar area where lot of phone shop are there. E5 & C6 are not available anywhere, but E71 was available with Rs 12500 price, which is really good price. That means, if E5 & C6 comes in market, price of E71 & E72 will really come down further.

release of e5 has been postponed by nokia... :-(... even salt lake, city center,kolkata,nokia priority also saying no news for e5 release date.embarrasing...
actually if e5 releases, e63, e71, e72 will be obsolated otherwise prices will be decreased...
So, keep patience...

I'm not a real expert (or professional) on the phone. I was just happened to be on the country that I need more than 1 phone to make my phone bill lower. Therefore, I got a chance to play/experience with more phone type. When my parents want to buy phone, they also ask me to choose for them. So, I got 4 person (me, wife, mom, dad) in which I could choose/play with a total of 11 phone model. I'm not rich either, so, most of the phone were used up to 3-4 years, but mostly the girl got the pre-used stuff. i.e my dad will give it to my mom after he want to buy the next model, and i will give one of my phone to my wife if i bought the new one. :)

Nokia e5 has pdf reader preloaded in europe. In nokia india e5 has (buy and try). Can anybody explain ?

The slower CPU & less SDRAM in C6 might have impact on the speed compared to E5. I believe nokia was trying to save the best for their symbian^3 devices (N8 and it's friend). Therefore not giving C6 the proper SDRAM/CPU.
But I don't really have a data on how fast/slow this E5 to C6 or on any other phone that have similar CPU/RAM (such as E72 vs. N97mini). :(. I really hope gsmarena or any other symbian site such as allaboutsymbian and symbian-freak will produce this kind of data.
Before I continued, I must said that i'm located in indonesia, therefore, I'm having more than 1 number, thus I'm using more than 1 phone. There were 5 GSM/3G provider here and 5 CDMA operator here. Each of them offering a dirt cheap call on-net, but a hefty price for off-net. That's mean if I use operator A card to call friend that use operator A too, it might cost me around US$ 0.005 (half cent us dollar). but if i want to call another friend that not using operator A, it might cost as high as US$ 0.30 (thirty cents us dollar). Therefore, almost everyone here have more than 1 number to save money :).
So, my phone were: Nokia E61i, Nokia 5230, Nokia 6275i (CDMA).
I use a montly data plan of 500MB that cost me US$4/month on my Nokia 5230. I mostly use operaMini while on GPRS, and I only use around 100MB-300MB/month. I already tried my best to use all of my quota with 300MB of data including using Nimbuzz to call to another Nimbuzz user (talk with voice for free).
While there were a wifi hotspot, such as on my office/home or when in a restaurant that have a wifi, I use the Nokia E61i. And this phone is already too old, only 220MHz Arm 9 CPU, very slow. And I'm planning to buy a new one to replace this :)
For GPS, I'm using the 5230 & ovi maps. I pre-load the maps so that it don't cost me a dime when in use. Note: you can preload the ovimap maps data, just plug the nokia device to computer to pre-load it using the software from the CD... or download nokia map up-loader. The maps data is provided by nokia free)

You looks to be heavy user of internet on mobile, so do you use unlimited GPRS plan & how much it cost to you monthly. Your feedback will help me to decide my next phone with suitable GPRS plan. 3) Also, let me know if you use GPS with GPRS connection or A-GPS with google maps. This query is because, i presently use HTC3400 window mobile phone with external bluetooth GPS receiver & one time buy of SATNAVIGATION maps of all-india. So, it does not require GPRS connection & works on GPS (free of cost). Will appreciate your feeback on all these points. Regards,Sachin

If you GPS while driving, you will really appreciate the touch screen more than button. With touch screen you can slide the map faster and more precise than with button.

E5 have faster CPU 600MHz
while C6 have slower CPU 434MHz
SDRAM
E5 have 256MB
C6 have 128MB
NAND, same size
But C6 have a bigger screen, touch screen and newer OS.
I don't know how you use your phone, but I do most of my job on the phone from e-mail, web browsing, etc 'till the watch the movies (youtube), etc.
For browsing, the C6 have better screen estate, so, C6 is better. Navigating with both touch screen and keypad also a plus point in C6. If you tried N97/N97mini/5800 then you will appreciate the addition of touch screen and large screen estate for web browsing.
For e-mailing, the QWERTY keypad, i think this is relative, but I like the C6 model more than the E5 model. also the bigger screen of C6 means I can read more on what I'd type, thus making easy to replying e-mail.
I don't know if you watch youtube or any other video over the web. I have a kid, 2yrs & 4yrs , when traveling, and they got cranky, I gave them some video on my phone. If you can rip some DVD to your phone, then C6 is also a better phone than E5 because it have better screen estate.
Lastly, game... I also play game on the phone, not on computer anymore. because my phone is the one with me all the time. It's more fun to play game with bigger screen and touch+accelerometer than the old way (button). and my kids will also appreciate the game more.
So,
while E5 have better CPU & SDRAM, my choice is fall to C6. It's a pitty that nokia didn't give C6 a better CPU and larger RAM, but I think QEWRTY is a must, and bigger screen + touch is a bonus.

It is almost s... morehy sachin at dis price band wat ill say is go for E5 coz i have 5800 n ya touch screen was my craze so go it but now i regret coz typing a message takes lot of time..... e5 is more power ful n u can actually reliase d speed requirements after u buy a slower fone.....
IF SUM ONE ASKS ME NOW I'LL DEFINATELY GO FOR E5
