AB, 07 Jan 2010Hi guys, can 3,5mm jack on this phone connect to a speaker ... morei believe the straight forward answer is yes, depends on how well your speaker set can boost the signals though.
one clever thing about the e52 (or other nokia?) is that when u plug in ur earphone without mic, the phone mic will automatically be selected instead, which means u can pick up phone calls with the mic on the phone, and any earphones that u r using for music. no dedicated hands-free kit is required.

If you upgrade your phone's firmware you will lose everything!!!
Backup your phone memory to memory card OR backup to PC using Nokia PC Suite.
I normally back up to both areas just to be on the safe side.

If your phone is working perfectly I suggest to stick to the original firmware. Sometimes upgrading can introduce new bugs.
If you are really curious to see what type of improvements the new firmware will bring go ahead but if you are comfortable at the moment and want to remain that way then stick to your original firmware.
I have an E51 and the latest firmware introduced a very annoying bug...when my phone rings and I answer it SOMETIMES it hangs up and the only solution is to either pull out the battery or wait until the phone automatically restarts. Just something I thought I would share with you.

Forgot to say I think the people who are having all the hangs and restarts are not closing things after using them and they end up with loads of stuff running and background and it crashes the phone. Everything you do stays running once you open it and unless you go to options and exit it then it just stays open. Simply pressing the back key or going to Home doesnt close them. This includes common things like contacts, messaging, calling and pretty much everything you do on the phone.

So far I like many things about the phone like battery life, small size and weight, lots of features. Main negative is a very complicated OS with lots of button presses needed to do anything and then you have to press a few more to shut anything off or it just stays running taking up resources. I would like to see more options to simplify things but I accept this complication to get the good parts.

im on hurry.. about reading the feedback of these two phones.. i see that e63 have low problem error.. but e52 has its error too.. more on restarting.. wats the best.. e52 or e63.. please do reply..

These units that are causing so much problems are EARLY UNITS of the First Batch and Nokia is still testing the consumer defects that are found. That is the WISDOM behind not rushing in to buy the NEWEST units but to wait for the later batches that will have STABLE SOFTWARE and better build quality.
SO wait until the newer units arrive with all defects corrected already.
Personally I love this phone because of its awesome battery life and slim profile, imagine having a thin ipod like phone in your front pocket listening to MP3 music. But I am willing to wait until the dust has settled and the phone software problems have been eliminated.

Dear All,
im from Pakistan,and i want to share something with you guys.i had the phone for about 1 month now and i have installed so many applications on it and consumes almost 600 mb of space but it works well despite of 2 time restart in one month but thats fine with me nothing worse happened.i Bought it for the features and the battery life which is amazing! only setback is the volume level is not loud enough though otherwise it's a fantastic phone!keypad is very good.very nice build and dimensions.i continously using edge on it and battery last for 3 days.color is silver gray.i just want to know that should i update my phone or just stick with this firmware?

type =RM-469
rm 469 is firmware right.

Smu, 06 Jan 2010The specs shows it has Digital Compass, however i dont see ... morethere is no seprate application for compass but u can fine when u turned on your maps then u can see digital compass at the left bottom corner :)

kenji, 05 Jan 2010my customer my this phone 2 weeks ago only. nw he cnt on n ... moreI also bought E52 in DEC'09..Had a same problem such as restarting,hang,always disconnecting during call, and finally turn off n cannot on again (it's all heppened within 1 week)..I send to the Nokia SC, they said 1st and 2nd batch have a motherboard problem, since my phone is a first batch,so they replace my phone with the latest board (that is what they said)..till now the phone is running smoothly and thank god no more problems..TQ to Nokia SC :)

I purchased mine from a Singaporean online retailer in September 2009. Died after 1 month, Nokia Australia told me to send it back to Singapore for repair which I did in late October. Still waiting for it to come back.
Get your facts straight.

Anonymous, 05 Jan 2010im from ireland, had the phone for about 5 months now. Free... moreto me the headphone is loud enough when volume is turned 100%, but the loudspeaker (speaker phone) mode is quite a bit soft when use in crowded places even when volume is maxed out.
overall, love it for it's features and battery life!
