E52 has GPS, E51 hasn't. It is the difference. Also see the camera specification. E51 is stronger - it is tested. Good luck!

Received the faulty handset back from Nokia Australia unrepaired. They say it is "uneconomical to repair" and "return to country of origin for replacement". Seriously , this is the worst service ever!

If notebook manufactures can offer international warranty then "mobile" phone companies should be perfectly capable of doing the same!

Never buying Nokia again. WORST PHONE EVER!!

Original_Jamaican, 26 Oct 2009To TRF: I was just asking if anybody encounters any heat... moreoh sorry if it sounded wrong. ^_^

But yeah, the E52 is really cool to the touch. honest.

that's probably the weirdest complaint I've heard yet, cuz if you've recalled the first thing I noted when I got my phone was that it's really really cool to the touch.

motos, samsungs and the iPhones you can really feel the heat when you use it for more than 30 minutes.

                  ----

yup, I've felt some warmth during initial charging but after 10 minutes it cools down during the charge. might be because my room is also cool.

But using the phone outside also has not heating problem and it's hot these days.

And the only phone i know that gets so hot you can't hold it is the iPhone.

Next to that are old IBM laptops. you can fry an egg on those things!

Oh and for the charging, usually it takes me 2 hours or something. 2 1/2 maybe.

Maybe somebody here can give you a more accurate test.

I sent it to service and still no result(they only upgraded or changed the software). I am a Nokia fun but this phone sucks (worst phone ever). I asked for my money cause i don't want another e52

                      Quick question people...

On average how long does it take to charge the E52, with a completely empty battery, with the phone in OFF MODE ?

trf, 26 Oct 2009overheating during a call with the e52... well that is a fi... moreTo TRF:

I was just asking if anybody encounters any heating problems with E52.

Reason being ever since the new generation of Nokia phones, people have been complaining about overheating problems when talking for certain periods of time, when the phone is being charged and when other tasks are being done.

The first phone I remember hearing people complain about was the 6300 then the E51. I owned the 6300 and currently have a E51 and not once have I ever encountered any form of heat which deserve a complaint. I have only experienced warmness at times and that's natural for any battery operated device.

The worst about these complaints was these guilty phones getting so hot that they couldn't be held in the hand.

I guess I always get the original Nokias.

The e52 is probably the coolest of all charging mobile devices I have(no pun intended).

I really think "most" here have Nokia clones of the E52, that are experiencing these dire problems.

Try an iPhone, buy it from the US or anywhere else then tell me if it's hot. Literally or Figuratively. ^_^

I bought my E52 6 weeks ago and I had terrible issues - hangs, restarts, dead phone.
First time I sent the phone to Nokia Care and thay only reloaded the software but few days later E52 was dead again.
The second time (after my complain) they decided to replace the motherboard - the phone spent 4 weeks in the service but now it has new guts and works without any problems.
The old E52 had IMEI 355216 03 02xxxx 5 and new one is 355216 03 36xxxx 2 (the firmware is still 021.013), so the "Serial number" is much "older" then the first one.
IMO a lot of E52s from early production phase has very serious hardware bug and the Nokia is hiding the truth.

Someone has modified the wikipedia entry for E52 and has removed the section about faults controversy. The change has been reinstated.
