Problems, 17 Oct 2009Hi, I ordered E55 from Nokia shop Online and when I tried t... morethey maybe don't understand the phones...but this is not actually a problem. I asked Nokia Care do they know something about e52 issues, and they said that the phone works perfectly, and that there has not been complains about this phone. They actually won't say anything about it. Would the bank say to people that someone hacked into their system? Surely not, like nokia does not. It is obvious what the problem is.

Yes, it stands that with mainboard comes new software too, but 1st and 2nd time at service they flashed software again, and problem was not solved, until the phone crashed. So, it is the hardware failure. Now phone works perfectly.

bingo, 18 Oct 2009thank you for the lesson mate. i respect your idea. thou... moreFair enough bingo.

Like I said it's your money.

      Please don't take it personally.

once again, my post never said that you should agree with me.

It is an opinion for others to use as a 'reference'. something to think about when buying e52.

just like your opinion is one of the many here.

so just use it for what it is. An opinion.

I'm not telling you to buy or not to buy this phone.
      I'm not your dad.

      ---------------------------------

      Stop taking this pesonally Bingo.

I'm not telling you what to do. that's why I'm taking things in general, not specific. not pointing it towards just you.

      ---------------------------------

If you think e52 is lousy, there are a lot more phones to choose from.

      ---------------------------------

Now I'm ending our little discussion on this.

      ---------------------------------

Let's try to help out future purchasers by giving each others complaints/opinions in a more 'constructive' fashion.

      ---------------------------------

Let's focus more on the phone and how to properly relay it's problems, so people are more aware and it can be translated to the proper authorities that can properly resolve said issues.

      Anyway, good day bingo.

i respect your idea. thought i dont agree at all of them. i dont have the phone-yet. but i do intend to buy it when all the kirks have been iron out. thats why i support those who complains about the product so Nokia will iron them out.

as to my money. yes it is my money. im sure you will not have problem if i demand what i believe is equivalent of my hard earned money. if you are happy in getting a lousy product for what you spend. then i guess its you and your money. just dont expect everyone to agree with you.

To improve the product, Nokia must read this forum.
Second, don't buy the phone until all the bugs have been ironed out. Wait for may be 6 months to one year. Be patient, you will save a lot of money if you wait and have patience, and you get a stable product. Patience has its virtues. After all, a depreciating cellphone is just like a CAR, it is a libility, not an asset. Will you DIE if you don't buy this phone? Is this just a WANT rather than a NEED? If so, forget it, and wait until the product is fixed.

bingo, 18 Oct 2009nokia should give you a free phone for taking their side on... moreListen Bingo.

The Majority of the consumer market does not revolve around you.

It's not just your specific need that is being catered here.

            Now don't take this personally.

If you're struggling with the price of this phone then don't buy it.

Take care of your financial investment. This would not only do good for you but also for your family.

This is a phone. If the price is considerable or expensive for you, then you should think things through when buying it.

There are other cheaper alternatives that can cater to the primary purpose of a phone.

If you do decide to purchase something that's more expensive than what you can really afford, then that is your risk. Do not blame the supplier.

            -----------------------

Now I am not siding with Nokia or any other name brand company.

I have no bias towards any of them.

Each of them produce excellent products and some just fail sometimes.

What I stated in my earlier post was the relationship between supplier and consumer.

            Because we've experienced that too.

And yes, they are working as advertised.

And yes, unfortunately not everyone is experiencing it.

            -------------------

I never said that you shouldn't complain.

            Read my post properly.

Yes, complaining makes the supplier aware. do that. but complain properly.

My first e52 also got busted, I complained in a simple and straight forward manner and they did replace it with a new one in 2 days, 3 days if you count the holiday.

It's been with me for more than a month now.

but still let's wait and see.

            --------------------------------

If the phone is really that troublesome for you personally then don't buy it.

            So there you go bingo.

I hope this short response has educated you on a non-personal note.

            --------------------------------

            on a side note:

Oh, and if you have read his earlier posts properly too, and look at the emotional intonations he projected in them, he did read and answer the posts in a child-like fashion.

            --------------------------------

            Later Bingo.

but, sorry. you failed to convince me.

as a buyer, i expect that the phone i buy should work as advertised, especially if you pay a considerable price for it.

it is good that people complains about the problem they encounter... so manufacturers will pay priority attention to it.

also calling someone five year old child just because he has different opinion from you is also childish

                    to OJ,

you once asked about the vibration strength of the e52 when inside the pocket.

                    It can catch your attention.

I had the vibration alert turned on when I'm on the move so yes, it can really alert you fine when your phone is in your pocket.

                    Very convenient.

What are you? a 5 year old child?

Firstly,(if you read my post properly..) I said to keep it at default FOR NOW. until a fix has been resolved.

                      ----------------------------

You're so certain it's a hardware issue? why? how many e52s do you have?

Do you know how to quality test a phone?

                      Are you an electronics engineer?

Are you qualified or know what you're talking about?

Do you know how long it takes to troubleshoot and debug an operating system code base?

Listen sunny jim, we do this on a daily basis. we understand this since clients want results as fast as possible.

Problem is, as more and more features are requested by different demographics(Oh not just you, you infantile 5 year old.), the code base gets more and more complex and not every scenario can be controlled with lab tests and quality control assessment.

Sometimes, it must be field tested.

What also shortens testing time is the constant requests of releasing it as soon as possible. So which one should be served, Quality or Demand?

Thing is, demand pays a high price in the overall scheme of economics.

As long as it is working for the most part, release it.

                      -------------------------

                      Problem still stands.

If your main logic board has been replaced, it means your embedded software has been changed too.

So your argument of saying it is for CERTAIN hardware related is inaccurate and misleading.

                      ---------------------------

Nokia is not releasing anything yet, because it probably has:

1: not enough complaints at the moment. (maybe the number of complaints has not yet reached 20% or so, depending on how much percentage they base off for factory recall.)

2: They're still working on it and simply have no time entertaining drive by complaints.

                      ----------------------------

Oh and junior, that's not how you handle an expensive device. The more expensive it gets, the more care you should give it.

It's not even that expensive, e71 is still more expensive than this unit. and yes, e71 also has its issues you can youtube it even.

Nothing's perfect. And I'm not bashing on e71 here. It's a very nice phone. That's why I'm thinking of checking out the e72 when it rolls out.

                      ----------------------------------

Like I said in past posts, if you only need a phone just buy a phone. no frills included.

Buy a Walkie Talkie if you want. It's your money guy.

"The more complex an engine gets, the greater the chance of things getting broken. More moving parts."

                      ------------------------------

Anyway, for all interested in purchasing the e52 it's still a very very good business phone. Better when they fix the issues with it. ^_^

                      Take Care!

I am not having the issues others are experiencing. Judging from the number of people who had their main board replaced with new IMEI, I am pretty confident that it is a hardware issue and we are just lucky to have one without problems (maybe we got from a different batch from the faulty ones). I don't think this is a firmware issue and definitely if it was, Nokia would have released something by now ( or at least had given hints of an upcoming version) given the huge popularity of this phone.

So I called them and they said a replacement will take 14 days or more. Quite useless so I decided to get a refund and sent it back. Now I'm thinking about E75. The trouble is it can be the same problem.. will give it one more try and then I'm done with Nokia.
