Thank you for sharing your findings with us. You are telling us things that nobody would have expected, like changing the shutter sound for the camera etc.

Only people who actually own the E52 would know this stuff...and then again, some owners still haven't found out things like this yet (smile).

Keep up the good work my friend!

@geocodine: i cant say the origin of this device because its connected to an alarm in the electronic center

Today i was only there to test out the RAM MEMORY, Radio and Display quality. The result of the RAM was AMAZING !!

              RAM:
this device has 128 MB RAM memory and 30 mb of them are usable i know it sounds bad. in reality u can open with this ram more then 10 apps at same time.the os speed wont be slower!!!( with gps a little bit )
i opened 2 games, video center, gallery, quick office, music player and more !!! my 6290 can open maximum 7 apps and after then the warn signal comes. so there is so many RAM which much enough i find!!

              radio:

the radio structure is the same as like the 6290 FP1 but it supports RDS which is a plus. THe good thing is u have the nice music quality also in the radio.
LOudness is powerfull side of the E52 if u not using the earphones of nokia.(i use AKG, dont want to advertise )

              display:

TFT display with 240x320 pixels looks quite nice on the display! The colours are bright enough and in the sunlight u can also see the display symbols...!
2"4 size i think is big enough and also compact.
only i couldnt find the settings for the acelerometer

of course i tested the gps a few minutes and there wasnt any problems!the camera has so many functions like the extra to shot a 360 panorama photo which is great! you can change the photo shot sound whih is for me important.

im only waiting that the price is going lower to buy this fantastic device

                    Repy to E52 fan,

N79, I never tried this model. I have used N82 which I feel is much better than N79. Both these N series phones are Camera oriented phones.

Menu in N82 was a bit slow. E52 is lightning fast. N79 looks never attracted me. I felt it like a Chinese made plastic toy that can do advanced gimmicks. I have always been away from these plasticky wonders from Nokia like 5800, N79, N96, N85 etc etc. Ridiculous, how Nokia manufactured these expensve gadgets in such cheap plastic body.

I have always been a E series fan. Now I am using E71. Camera isn't good but rest I am satisfied with my USD 385 phone. Atleast I feel proud when I hold the solid Steel.

I am surprised why E52 is not launched in India. But do not forget that Nokia has anounced three colours in E52 but only one colour is available all over the world. This indicates that Nokia is still undergoing mass production of this model and what ever quantity is already distributed is not the final product. It is still undergoing some changes before Nokia comes up with a bang. I mean full fledged distribution with complete range of colours.

Those who have got Silver Gray and if their product is working without any flaw should consider them lucky. I got the best unit, I never had any complaint whatsover with my E52.

E71 seems lagging in speed when compared to E52. But still I like my E71 too because of its built and feel.

                        Thank you very much.

My E51 took 38 secs. to backup the entire phone memory with 1,043 contacts and some calendar entries. So clearly the E52 speed is basically the same as the E51 when backing up the phone memory. I am mightly impressed (smile).

                          Hi OJ,

                          Finally got my replacement.

for the gallery, I'm not noticing any slowdowns.

it's pretty fast moving from pic to pic.

what they may be noticing is when the gallery moves into a video pic since both videos and pictures are combined in it.

                          All in all it's fast.

I'll check it against 5800 and E71 tomorrow.

The camera is also pretty good,( once again it is a phone camera and not a camera for all the critics out there. hehe).

just hold down the camera button and in a second or so you can start taking pics. the slow turning on of the camera was designed so you won't accidentally press it and it starts taking pictures.

If you steady on the D-pad it will fly across the pics, it will only slow down a bit when it passes a video.

I have 40 pics right now and the 2 sample videos pre installed.

You gotta try it out for yourself OJ, it is fast, no slow ups noticeable.

Steady left then steady right, it has some kinetic scrolling type going on. it slows up and slows down as part of the "effect" when it starts and stops.

It's a nice animation added to the gallery of this business-centric phone.

There is one serious bug in the phone.

When u select all contacts and create backup on memory card, It copies only a limited number of contacts and then says how many were copied and how many were not.

Information on this is posted on nokia discussions under "E52 backup contacts bug".

Till now i have only heard phones for APAC region have this bug. Especially with language set 14.02

Also the "multiple sms deletion " option by using the " # " button is not implemented in these versions. Ppl from european region confirmed its working on their phones.

So be careful when u buy from those regions.I got mine from singapore about a month back and sending it back to Nokia care for repairs regarding these two and a small display problem.

                            Any other info needed HTH.
                            Thanks.

For people asking abt the time to backup,
It took 40 seconds to backup everything on phone to memory card.
There were no user files on phone except about 500 contacts and calendar entries.
At time of backup there was 53Mb free space on phone.

hi peeps, one thing to note about speed.

even though a processor is clocked at a higher cycle, the bottleneck would also be how the software application was designed or rather how fast it can operate based on it's design logic.

an app can only go as fast as it was built.

you might not notice any speed difference with certain apps because they've already reached their optimal performance at a lower clock cycle/speed.

Increasing the speed any further will not speed it up.

But you will notice that the higher speed setting will be utilized by apps requiring that speed limit.

PC games are a good example of this.

Some games won't run at a lower clock cycle.

The keys are very responsive. Connecting with wifi is easy. Even weaker signal, it can connect with web. Simply I like this phone very much.
