hs, 09 Sep 2009i ve read all fantasic opinion abt dis phone...bt cn any1 t... moredunno what's up with carl zeiss and everything. theoretically it should be better. It should have at least a better lens than non carl zeiss ones.

but I compared it with 5800 carl zeiss double led flash, e71 and e52 beat it hands down.

I think e52 needs a firmware update for its camera.

I remember a phone, forgot what, that it's pic quality became much much better with an update.

but the picture quality is good for a phone camera.

I tried it in low light as well as well lit rooms. I'll try it when I have time to take pics outdoors.

ya hs, it had been with the care for over 2 weeks. they were suppose to replace the set instead they reinstalled the firmware and gave it back telling me that they cant replace it unless they find a permanent damage. They said they did not find any problem with the set after the firmware reinstall. Well now it passed away. i wonder wht they ve got to say to me when they see me tomorrow.

camera is ok if u take pictures from a distance and in day light or in some place where's more than enuf light is around.. if taking photos of something smaller like a newspaper writing or a book page, it aint good due to fixed focus. u will not be able to read anything from the taken picture. taking photos in low light is also not very good. too much grain.

i agree with trf, the D-pad of steel has really a good pressure feeling!
today i could find the settings for the accelerator and could also test it now.

the accelerometers speed is quite nice but if u shake a bit its reacting much faster !

video are automatically shown is wide screen mode whih everyone knows maybe but for me its new and i think its better because otherwise the video resolution isnt so compatible and u have then smaller format!

what im asking is why they integrated the video center? because in gallery u can show the videos too.

and i like most the gps with nokia maps. my tomtom is good too but the software of nokia maps looks more modern i find.

now its your turn my friend OJ=) me would interest your opinion too. i think there isnt nearly nothing which is unknown on this device except the firmware problem but nokia will certain find a solution in the next firmware upgrade

You have been very busy my friend. We are working harder than the GSMArena editorial staff are (smile).

16 hours of hard use and only 58% battery life used. That's mad, sick, crazy power there. Duracell and Energizer have met their match (smile).

As another reviewing site said "The main and best selling point of the E52 is the amazing battery life"

Yet there is even more to love about it feature-wise.

I really need to get my hands on a E52.

one of the things that I like with this phone is its D-pad. it's made of steel.

Since it's virtually the most used control of the phone, making this very durable would ensure that the phone won't age as quickly as say other phones that have silver-coated plastic D-pads.

All the keys are firmly placed, which is good. nothing feels like it's creaking or will fall off.

Though you MUST check the front frame around it. Some e52 front frames creak like it might fall off, mainly the right side of the phone when you're facing it.

The second one I got has a much sturdier frame.

                        -------

The signal quality is very good for SMS, WLAN, 3.5, etc.

I have no complaints about it.

                        -------

I've also noticed that it's only in the email app that icons are animated...

probably all icons will be animated in the next firmware update.

Original_Jamaican, 09 Sep 2009To TRF: Based on my experiences, ever since the Nokia 62... moreit seems to be okay now.

                          It's really really fast.

Had a go with e71 and 5800 today, it's battery really rocks.

using music, video, visiting the gallery a lot, installing apps, taking pictures, surfing the net, sending and receiving text, setting up emails(personal and business) and sending mail, etc.

I've also installed a lot of images for OVI maps.
                          GPS on, accelerometer turned on.

this is 16 hours people and I've only used 58% of it's battery life.

                          very impressive.

I've tried doing video and taking pictures with e71 and within 2 hours or so it was already halfway drained.

Ei guys, I have found another Nokia E52 review! This was already available long before Mobile-Review reviewed the E52.
This time around, it's from the Russian version and sister site of the now-static Smape.com.

Here's the review translated by Google Translate:

Based on my experiences, ever since the Nokia 6230, the OSes have gotten really complicated and seems to correct itself by restarting whenever there's a software failure / glitch. I see it as the phones repairing themselves / restoring the OS to a proper state etc.

All this is ok when playing music or other stuff which doesn't consist of communications.

The most aggravating thing is when you are on a call and the OS restarts. However, I must admit that I have not experienced auto-restarts while on a call with most of the Nokia phones I have used. Only the 6300. The 6300 OS is the buggiest OS I have ever encountered.

My E51 is near perfect where the OS is concerned. It normally runs days without any errors.

TRF, don't worry, I'm sure the restarting OS glitch you are experiencing now will be ironed out soon with firmware upgrades.

@trf: i got my set back from the care and they did not replace it rather they reinstalled the firmware. And till now its working perfectly and i am really happy with it. i did every possible stuffs that can be done to freeze or restart the phone and still everythings working fine. which means previously it had a faulty firmware. Tho when entering the gallery it slows a bit but inside any album it works like a charm. well if u turn the theme effects on, u wont notice those small lags that is faced when using the auto rotate using the sensor mode. perhaps the korean version of this phone have faulty firmwares in them. re-installation should help get rid of these problems.

@Shiv: u can use the compass while u r inside ovi maps. The compass is in the bottom-left position of ovi maps. Initially the compass will have a round white ring which means it is inactive. once u ve the map online, gps and compass all turned on, u have to move your phone in a round rotation which will make the compass's round ring turn to green and make it work. if u don understand clearly, check the manual given with ur phone. it has a picture inside also how to activate the compass.

I swapped from samsung's omnia i900 and bought nokia e52, the battery life lasts 4 days for normal usage. the phone is slim and elegant, never had a problem ever since. I also accidentally dropped the phone thrice, but there was no scratch at all.. its made of a good material.. And the keypads are the best.. I'd rate this 9 out of 10.. because the camera is not so good compared to omnia.. But still, this is the best phone I ever had.. And this is the first time Im so contented with a phone.. It fast, sexy, got long battery life.. what more can you ask for.. and yah by the way, the contacts can have several details, where you can edit each detail like bank account number instead of email ad or mobile number etc...its a small phone, with so much features in it
