Nokia E55

I just received my E55 in the mail from germany. Unfortunately, the unit seems dead on arrival. The phone will not power on (only vibrates briefly but don't see any lights/screens whatsoever). I cannot get a charge-indicator either, even though I've attempted to charge it both via computer and plug.
Has anyone else had this problem? Anyone have any ideas for a solution besides returning it?
I have tried looking up 'hard reset' inputs for the E55 (i.e. "Call Button" + " 3 " + " * "), but I still only get the short vibration. Anyone know if the hard reset key sequence is different on this device? I need help!

VF :), 18 Sep 2009I hope that this phone will be available in holland soon :) !If Nokia Indonesia gonna release the first 55 sets of E55, like they did with E72, I would go to Ritz Carlton right away! No kidding!

i am been using e55 since 2 months now and i tell you people that i dont have any problem with it and i think its the best cell i had

First of all I'm a Nokia man. I'm currently using the N97 and it's been great since the latest upgrade. But this E55 is something else... I got to choose a Nokia E-series phone in a mid-price range, so I thought I'd go with the new E55, since the E71 kicked sooo much a$$. And really, how different could this phone be aside from the qwerty versus qw-er-ty keyboard?
During the 8-9 hours I actually had this phone, it crashed about 20 times. Every crash had to be solved with removing the battery, so it really crashed. Also some kind of System Error message appeared many times. My PC (Vista) didn't have a clue about the drivers or the phone. I plugged it in about 30-40 times and PC Suite did connect about 1-2 times - yay.
The "half qwerty" was awful. Yes, I'm sure you'll get used to it in a week or so, but I didn't even wanna find out. I just wanted to get rid of this JUNK before I'd smash it on asphalt. So the next day I went back to the store and got myself an E63. Of course I would've gotten the E71 (again) if it would have been in the price range allowed by the company, but I think I made a good choice with the E63.
But don't buy E55 until they release the next MAJOR firmware update. It's almost beyond usable! And this all is coming from a guy who's been using Nokia for the past 14 years.

I had purchased this Phone from Nokia Flagship Store in London. Phone was made in Finland. For few days phone was working fine, but it started to develop one problem. There were frequency like electrical vibrations on screen. Overall ohone is nice.

I spoke to Nokia priority dealers in India and they are very skeptic about the release of e55 here. I just hope they are wrong.
