This line of phone has the gratest potential to be the king of smart business phones.

The key pad with T9 is great.

What will make this the greatest yet is

    1) Handwriting recognition
    2) A bigger screen with a digital display qwerty keypad on the screen when required
    3) A camera
    4) more memory
    5) Battery life a little longer

      Hi Guys
I just had this phone yesterday and I'm still exploring, yet I have tow problems. The first one it doesn't accept most of themes and applications, even those designed for Symbian 3rd edition, one another thing once I installed a theme I don't have the option to delete it, as I was used to do with my previous 6680.
Would you please recomend on these tow issues.

        @anonimus

Your best bet is to go down to local shop and try it before you buy it.

              Hi
Thanks for the hint. I finally found the software updater and installed it.
              The fw is now:
              2.0518.06.05
              14-07-06
              RM-49

WLAN is really stable now. No lost signal anymore.
Next I'll check VoIP and watch the battery strength and hope the best.

                Hello Dude,

Mee too faced this issue initially. After the firmware update the battery life boosted up and all other issues disapper.

Go go nokia-asia.com and to support page for E60 download Nokia S/W Updater and do it

                Regards,
                Narasimhan

                  Hi
does anybody know where to get the latest firmware?
On my E60 is this one:

                  1.0610.02.15
                  12-04-06
                  RM-49

                  (appears when *#0000# entered)

My phone's battery dies after 25-27 hours - moderate usage: approx. 1~2 hours/day (no calls at all, only applications), but bluetooth is enabled.

WLAN connection to my Netgear router WPN824 get lost every ten minutes despite intervisibility. (I'm sitting next to the router, there are no walls in between)
That's pretty frustrating when you need to browse the internet and have to reconnect constantly, sometimes every second click on a link. I'm using WPA-TKIP security settings, WLAN is not hidden.

Due to the unstable WLAN connection the use of the VoIP feature seems to be futile. Nevertheless I tried to configure the E60 for my finarea accounts like VoipBuster and co. and failed.

The E60 would be the smartphone I allways wanted, I don't want a cam, I just want a stable WLAN and a working VoIP-client software. So now I really hope to find a newer firmware and hope that I don't have to go to a Nokia repair center.

Maybe somebody has a link to download the latest firmware or an alternative VoIP client for Symbian?

                  Thanks
                  pruduch

                            @ am cool
You need WLAN access point. From there you should use it if you are authorized to do so. You are not going to learn much from this forum so I would suggest you get official docs and do some reading. Easiest way to test it is if you have WLAN at your home or work and test it there by accessing first and then browsing or updating applications like TravelMate (available free from Nokia site for 3 years usage).

                                Hi Al,

You can't install yahoo messenger but you can install agile messenger, it does the same job and you can use wifi to connet. try it!

Yes, it is possible. I didn't try it, but I did read reports about it and instructions how to do it. Have a search with google.

Forgot to mention that because the screen is great and it has USB connectivity, it makes a great photo album. It doesnt need resizing so it can just take any photo size and it looks great.

                                      HI.

Got this phone a while back and hence had a play with it so i can properly say what i think abt it after a while.

Pros: 1) It's a smartphone - think multitude of programs you can install in it. And it being the latest symbian software its suppose to be the fastest. To be honest, i came from a Motorola V3 so it the E60 felt slow. Although, other older symbian users have said its blazing compared to their old phones. 2) It's got a pretty decent built in memory so u can save lots of stuff with it. Dont think abt doing loads of movies unless u loads it up with a bigger RS MMC. I have a 2Gb in it and its a decent video-ipod replacement. WHich brings me to good point no. three 3) It's resolution and screen is the best at the moment. *note* comparing it to phones from japan like the Sharp VGA screen on is not considered. It's resolution is so high and crisp, i can loads up great videos in it after coverting. 4) It works as a usb drive in a way. You just plug it in and voila, start throwing stuff into the phone. Think only the nokia E series supports it in the nokia line. 5) Battery life is actually great in 2G and after updating the latest firmware from nokia. Hits abt 5 days with minimal use. Sure it could hit 6 if i left it alone. With wifi occasionally, it hits 4-5 days. Ocassionally means checking footie score, reading 1-2 mails and browsing headlines. Can't comment on 3g i'm sorry. 6) Solidly built from nokia. No creaks and squeeks. weakest part is the rsmmc cover but rest all solid.

Cons: 1) Brick design. Was sorta fooled by online pictures but when i got it from ebay....i was like.....it's big....please look at it in person. It's alos not that light...cant say heavy but not light (after all i was coming from a V3). 2) It's a symbian. Has crashed on me several times. Maybe hitting 25 times in total so far. Requires a reset more than my toshiba laptop. Although have to say the phone is crashing much less as i use it. Could be im not used to symbian software. Also, becuz its symbian, its slower than non smartphones. 3) Sound quality is SLIGHTLY above average at best. Get ANY SONY ERICSSON phone and it will own this E60. On the note of sound, the only provide mono phones in the package. 4) Resolution is so high, that u will have problems finding proper convertors to the native 352x416 screen. But have to say, at 320x240 the screen looks great still. 5) No camera. Dont expect it to be a carl zeiss lense or anything but could be useful for some comic shots.

As u can see, i have played with the phone and am using it. I've not been signing praises about it and i think i have given a fair review of it. I wont be telling u to buy it or start a pro-nokia, anti samsung/SE flame thread. It's up to u. But my final score is it gets a solid 8/10. The reason being, wifi is just so amazing to have everywhere u go. And how many of us bring a pda everywhere we go like a mobile phone? Cheers.

I just got this phone and I have an issue with the E60 menu - When selecting any folder I get a "no data" message. Has anyone else had this issue?
