Hi,
Anybody knows if it can just vibrate for SMS? I just got it and can't see an option to make it vibrate in Silent/Meeting mode when an SMS arrives. I actually had to get rid of one of my previous Nokias due to this glitch so I hope this one doesn't have it. Please let me know if it's doable because otherwise the phone looks very good.
Thanks,
Max

I got the phone 2 days ago & i absolutely love it. Not too small & not too big. Screen is brilliant & clear. Earpiece volume is loud. On my previous phones earpiece volume was always set to the loudest but on this phone i only set it at 70%. Music playback is decent. Wifi & GPRS works great. Browsing is a breeze. Email works well. Battery life is decent. Interface is fast. I don't mind not having a camera as i've wanted a phone without one. The keypad is well laid out but they're a little bit hard when pressing. 9/10 :D

Week ago I did write here saying I was pleased with phone and did list an error I was getting as only problem I had. I'm happy to say that as it seems this is now fixed too! The problem was with SIM copartment of the unit and after replacing it my E60 is stable.
I find this phone to be great and exactly what I need. I still have my old 6330i and only thing better there is battery which still lasts for 7 days when not in use frequently. E60 can't compete with that, but the battery is also smaller too. With E60 expect to charge on daily basis when used heavily (especially with WiFi). But this is design and not flaw (otherwise unit would be much much bigger.. like 9xxx).

Is it my imagination or are certain mobile phone networks somewhat reluctant to promote this phone? Could this be because they are worried that it's WIFI capabilities will rob them of call income?
Why else would Orange in the UK not offer this phone? You can get the phone from Vodafone in the UK, but there is no mention of it on their website.
Perhaps I'm just a trifle cynical.

since the functionalities of the first batch of E series (E60, E61, E70) are so similar, i think it depends on you which form factor you like most, aside from camera and screen size/resolution.

Everything was fine until I synchronized my Phone with Outlook express for my contacts only. After Synchronizing the contacts the phone became as slow as a turtle. Taking as long as 3-5 seconds to open up a contact name to view. At times now it just freezes as well. I think there is some error with this phone for memory allocation and will need a firmware update to address this issue.

Hi...There don't seem to be any shortage of memory/ram while using the phone, though I'm running many application on the back ground. Very good stability so far!

Hows the memory (64meg.) being managed when many apps are open at the same time? On All about Symbian, theres an interesting article on RAM management by symbian os9.1

About e60 sound quality.I have e60 bout 6 weeks and w800 bout 4 months.Using both phones playing mp3 a lot, sound with earphones of course is better of w800 and much louder, sound with integrated speaker is better by e60,its much louder than one in w800.I even tried w800 original earphones with e60,but still w800 is unbeatable in that way:)

I have this phone for a week now. I did buy it in Germany and it is 430 euros (370 if tax free). Overall I'm happy with performance - long startup, but then you don't do many of those. The only issue I had so far is that when it stays locked for longer period I can't unlock it - well I can, but it shows sign of lock and I have only contacts available (to reset it I have to remove battery).

I've had my E60 for quite a while now and it has worked perfectly for me. WiFi do come in handy when I'm in places offering free WiFi.
It's good for me also since camera's are not allowed in datacenters and I'm the IT Security Operations Manager! I can still bring this brick with me in the datacenter.
Browser is great! The screen's magnificent resolution helps a lot in viewing native html. I've never needed using WAP since most of what's in the web is HTML.
Sync with my Outlook is perfect. I haven't touched my Palm or my iPaq since this one's doing my contacts, calendar, to do's and even my docs. worked with xls already and it's good enough for me. haven't tried doc and ppt. will probably do once the need arises.
Great job with this one Nokia!
