Perfect combination of beautiful design with the latest technology! Does anyone know when they will release it and how much USD it will be? People, UNDERSTAND that winmo is no where near where the latest SYMBIAN OS is. NO comparison!

        (RIM Nokiaberry)

Awesome!! Since RIM is in a deep law suit.. Nokia took advantage of its design..

        Good Luck People!!

Many companies will not allow cellphones with cameras as this can lead to corporate espionage. Nokia made the right choice and dispensed with the camera. As for people who say you can't "create" anything on the cellphone/pda, I'm a writer and when I'm on the run, I can't carry a bulky laptop. I've written whole articles and short stories (5,000 words or more) on my Palm Tungsten W--which has a crappy phone. If this new Nokia E61 supports synching with the Mac using Documents to Go, I'm getting it.

This phone looks amazing. Big buttons and great screen.

Will be out late march and have no competition because Moto's "Q" has been cancelled.

I bought without contract from non service provider as it offers a 1 year (free) + 4 year (need to pay) gauranteed compare to 1 year (free) gauranteed with contract from service provider. It is about SGD1.7k+ for the 'phone only'.
Photo and sound (I assume ringtone) to contact is good. Not very sure about video to contact (have not try out).
Sad to say, it is only one language (English), for Chinese, Monster Chinese 5.x needs to be install.
Did not pay attendtion to the fonts, did not try the zoom in / out of menu (if any).
The old windows program (which works on PPC2003) installed on WM5 includes some games, Beta Player (for AVI), Total Commander (better file explorer) and they works.
Dopod takes 2 working to response to a complain via email.
I still rememeber Nintendo take only half a day to response to my complain via email.

Customisation meaning themes, adding a photo/sound/video to a contact entry, but also changing languages, fonts, zooming in and out when in various menus, and how about the programs that were launched for WM 2003 se, is it possible to instal them on the new WM 5? And did you buy your phone with or without a contract and how much did it cost you?

The Dopod900 is WM5 and crash a lot of time. The UI looks same as the WM2003SE Version. What kind of customisation are you talking about?

If you're looking for a Nokia smartphone with a touchscreen and stylus, then take a look at 7710. I had it and sold it about 2 months ago because I wasn't very happy with it. I have to admit that the UI was great, and that i haven't seen a phone so advanced in software yet, and I loved the touchscreen, but on the other hand it was impossible to deal with the phone in everyday life. I was just too big and really slow - and that's the only thing I can't stand, a slow phone.

However, it is a series 90 device, the first and the last from Nokia, because they canceled the developement, since it didn't bring them the desired income.

And about Motorola Q, altough I can't imagine how the smartphone will be operated without a touchscreen and stylus, i hope that it will be faster than 7710, and we know from now that is is much lighter and a bit smaller.

But what about Windows Mobile? You said that you are a Dopod900 owner, which I believe runs on 5.0? I expect you have experienced a lot of crashes, but what about the features. Is the UI good and does it allow customization?

I have reason for my comments that older Nokia Phone has more stable software.

I start using Nokia from 8210, 8250 and 3100 which does not give me problem. Until 6170 which I use for more than a year experiencing occasion (once a very long long time) hang and Nokia has not provide any software upgrade since it was launch. The 7270, a almost similar has better software.

Back to Windows Mobile 5, maybe Moto has better software compare to HTC, but the HTC Dopod900 WM5 experience regular (one day many times) hang software.

Dopod900 support is bad too, not even a courtesy reply that they will look into the problem even when you bother to feedback their problem via their.

What is really missing in Nokia phone is probably the touch screen using stylus.

Agree that this makes a good Biz Phone for people who cannot bring on phones with camera when visiting customers premise.

Saw on some website that this USD400. Expensive.

Lately, notice that Nokia phone's software is not so good compare to their older phones. But better and more stable than Windows Mobile 5 for sure which is worst in the Dopod900 (same phone as O2 XDA EXEC, Jasjar i-Mate & Qtek9000 by HTC). Well, I can say that because I own a Dopod900, software hangs regularly and you get to lost you SMS when hang.

Seems like Nokia has some serious competition. The Moto Q is smaller, lighter, and has something that E61 is missing - CAMERA. Altough it is meant for business users "only", if it had a camera, I would have bought it, altough I'm 18. However Q has one - 1.3 Mpix and it's enough for me, and it's also powered by Windows Mobile 5.0 which is the best!

The key pad design looks like toy. why don't design as 9500 type is better.
Camera nneed is depend on people, don't be like me, when purchase a new phone, always ask for good camera phone. But, until the day i sold my phone, i just realise that only took 2 picture all the time..
Size is a little bit bulky, i draw it's sharp on a paper, then show to my friend, they guess this is a calculator...
Anyway, i believe Nokia will make it better in the next model.
