Hi amit, I've both e61i and p990i. And from my experiance, I would like to advice u, go for e61i. Its better than p990i (on function, performance). But p990i has touch screen and style look. If u need best performance then go for e61i.

Symbian is the name of operating system (like windows) which is used many phones. In Bangladesh it takes $420. Come with mono headset, 256mb memory card. If you ask my opinion then I’ll say, this is the best phone ever made by Nokia, camera is great in daylight. Net browsing is same as pc. If you need best browsing device then go for it. And I'm giving you a surety that it is 50% betters than P990i, although it lacks touch screen but believe me it don't need the touch screen.

Symbian is an operating system. You know, like Windows, Linux, Mac OS, Symbian. Except Symbian is used in cellphones, not computers.

its now in egypt for 3100 EG pound almost 560 US$ and i can tell its very nice but anybody knows if it has the same problem with viweing office documents like the old one E61 as the last one was too slow in previwing or editing any office files ...

I Heart E61i, just got it last night.
The Blackberry Connect works fine with my Enterprise BES 4.1 server.
The camera is not too bad with proper lighting.
I love the Worldmate 2007, Weather Caster is quite cool software.

I have the E-61. What the diff between the 61 & 61i?
I'm having a few problems ... it finds WLANs and connects to them, but can't surf or do e-mail. I get the "NO GATEWAY FOUND" error message. Is that because of the way the WI-FI is configured or what? The other day I was near a Starbucks and I could check GMAIL (The Gmail application especially made or the E-61 is a slimmed down version. it's no frills and works well). but this afternoon I couldn't. Got the NO GATEWAY Found message. NOKIA's customer service is terrible. They even sent me a survey and I told them how bad it was. No help what-so-ever!
Another problem is setting up the EXCHANGE Mail Program. Just cant get it to work.
I should tell you I'm in japan. The land of Gagets is way behind when it comes to Hot Spots. They are very few .. just like any original ideas they come up with..

I have to say for a person like me that changes phones regularly looking for the ultimate business phone the nokia e61i was fantastic. it is much better than the ericsson w950 and i got bored waiting for the samsung i600 which the nokia proved to be much better. now all nokia has to do is bring the E61i with a second camera in order to have the perfect phone. by the way the battery life seems to go for ever.

How to make e62 faster.
Wait for software updates .
I dont have problem retreiving messages on blackberry i go on hotmail ... Stay connected to agile messenger all day speed is good
Remove useless java application
install only messenger on the phone memory and dont install to many java apps symbian applications is better
deleat or move every file possible to the memorycard leave the phone memory clear except for emails and messenger
the only problem with this phone is a problem with the profile and sound or video are choppy when certain appliocations are instaled
