i am thinkin' of buying the e65 but there so many of you who had problems with the battery, software,messaging...so...can someone help me and tell me their hands- on experience with the e 65??thanks it will help me a lot

I bought this phone (E65) in may 2007 when it was new in the philippines market. Within first year I had problems with text messaging. Suddenly I will stip receiving any text messages but was able to send text. The service center repaired it 2 times but no luck. After each repair within few weeks the phone had the same problem again. In the end the dealer even gave me replacement phone. I thought the problem is solved. But within few months the same problem appeared again. By this time my warranty was over and I got so fed up that I got rid of the phone.
My daughter had nokia 5700 and even after using it very very carefully it suddenly stopped working. It gives the message contact retailer. The service center failed to repair it and now it is a piece of junk.
I was a NOKIA fan for last several years. Always bought only NOkia phones but now I don't feel like buying nokia any more. I am planning to buy some other brand, sony ericsson or samsung.
I think nokia has serious problems with high end models.

I don't know your origin and service provider else I could have helped. I am using GPRS for a couple of months and it is good enough.

It is not a problem at all, infact it is another marvel of sensor technology. If you look at your handset from the front just below the power button and beside the speaker there is a light sensor. Keypad LED's glow if the sensor is not receiving adequate environmental light and vice versa. This sensor works to save the battery life. For an experiment cover the sensor with your finger and slide open your handset, all the keypad LED's will glow.

Dee, 21 May 2009Hey can anybody tell me if this phone has gps or if maps ca... moreDear, it does not have a built-in GPS but you can use GPRS based maps with a little less accuracy (it shows location of the BTS you are connected to and accuracy can be upto a few hundred meters). Simply open web browser of your handset and go to m.google.com/maps download the application and isntall it, it is very simple to use.

e65 is good. i have been using it for over 8months now. the only problem is that i have not been able to activate my gprs though i make video calls expecially seeing my soulmate in the state life and direct. the phone is good, i recommend it for every one.

I have this phone for about 2 years and t wrking awesome.I keep in in a case so i have no scratch after 2 years of use.The functions are very good,3g wifi etc.The camera is not so good but anyway i dont need a god camera on my mobile as it is a business mobile(who needs good camera buy a dslr:P)I didnt have any problems with the buttons,light or any others.I recommend anyone to buy it.its even better than the e51

the phone and its functions are very good but its battery charge is very bad.it stands only for 12hours
