Saran, 28 Dec 2010I am impressed with performance ARM CORTEX A8 processor of ... moreNokia didnt choose Arm11 over Cortex A8 because they wanted to, they had to maintain compatibility, Symbian doesnt handle modern processors too well. But read opinions here and for N8, the fanbois are happy with Arm11, most of them because lack of knowledge, and some coz they are die hard nokia fans and would forgive them if E7 had Arm9 at 200 MHz.

About compatibility, yes SE has used Cortex A8 in Symbian phones, but this is not the same. SE dont have to maintain Nokias compatibility and could use a modern processor. Nokia could also ofcors, but they chose higher compatibility over higher performance. Bad choice...

Dan, 28 Dec 2010Hmm looks a good phone allright but Nokia is making some mi... morei have to agree with you. No offense to Symbian worshippers, but they really dont know how good other OS' are, and then in particular Maemo5, its such a amazing OS, and N900 had "everything". Theres no doubt that N900 is still Nokias best unit, and that Symbian has nothing to put up against Maemo5.

32gig + card slot, FM transmitter, high res screen, decent processor, AF Cam/carl zeiss, everything that E7 is not. And USB-OTG? Yes, possible with N900.

However, even if Maemo5 is way better than Android, and N900 is the best Nokia, it doesnt mean N900 is the best phone. Its too old to compete with the newest android fones, the OS alone can no longer earn N900 the title as the best phone ever. Its too fat and bad battery, its easy to accept Androids limitations when facing the weak sides of N900.. =(

Wish Nokia had made an intermediate model with Maemo6 while waiting for MeeGo to mature enough to go into production models, fixing the flaws of N900 could have resulted in an amazing device (capacitive screen and better battery + slimmer). Letting Maemo sail its own sea and putting all the development resources into Symbian may turn out to be nokias biggest blunder when history is written.

Funny thing is when iphone lacked (and still is) so many things no one was complaining..but when any other phone lacks something...that phone is not big, but huge piece of crap... If E7 didn't have only one thing, something like fm transmitter or somethig ,I believe that opinions would be the same... oh,my god, no fm transmitter...oh,what a disappointment bla bla bla

Hmm looks a good phone allright but Nokia is making some mistakes:Symbian 3 is not all too good.
                No card slot??
Low resolution for auch a big screen.
No carl zeiss and fixed focus?
With some little changes nokia could make a comeback and win over the market.Such as:
Using Maemo or Meego. I got n900 and maemo is the best os. my brother has android with HTC sense but i like maemo more for many reasons. I also saw meego and hell its a cool os. better than android or symbian. but with symbian, i think they are making a mistake.
also they can start making wvga resolution. at least on a 4 inch screen.
+ it wouldnt hurt much to put a card slot, carl zeiss and autofocus if they put them on lower end devices. I cont get nokia sometimes....
With some little but important improvements, nokia could make this phone the best on the market. It really would be the best with maemo or meego, a little better processor(prefarably ARM)/ram, card slot and autofucus/carl zeiss. For now N900 ftw.

                Sent from Nokia N900 :D

I am impressed with performance ARM CORTEX A8 processor of N900.
I dont understand why nokia dont use that processor for n8 or e7.
Already symbian phones have sooo many problems about operating speed, hangup problems, and nice ui.

It has got good design. But
                          1. Symbian cant compete with android or iOS
                          2. No card slot on high end device
                          3. fixed focus camera
                          4.Low resolution screen

One Big mistake is "Symbian OS"
Nokia will die on Symbian disease
Nokia will resurrect only with Meego
                                      and nothing else...
So for now, Nokia N900 Rocks

Full user manual of E7 just went online today and I guess its broad market availability should be around mid January 2011.
